I hope some of you got the book and will read it. I just finished the book. I had extra audio book credits so I actually got the kindle book and the audible book. This book felt different than previous books. To me it felt like they were trying to show us what Castle could have been like if they would have let them have a happy wedding and happy ever after. They showed Nikki and Jamison working together to solve a murder. They were in sync with words and thoughts. This is how I always hoped to see Castle become in later years. Instead as you all know they refused to let them have a fun wedding and happy ever after. It was fun to see the writer's perspective help to solve the crime. I wonder if we will see anymore Nikki Heat books or if this will be the end? I thought the last mash up of the Storm and Heat books was the end but then they gave us another one. Tom Straw did publish his own book this last year. I'm still trying to get to that one.
If you read this book what did you think? I will not give any spoilers in case you haven't read it yet.

I was hoping for more discussion on the book. I have my doubts that Tom Straw wrote this book. There was a mention of Det. Sharon Hindsburg and she was killed off in book 5 Deadly Heat. I don’t think Mr Straw would make that mistake.

Hi Tycho,
I haven't the book yet, so I can't discuss it yet.
I read on the Amazon reviews about Det. Sharon Hindsburg. It is really unbelievable. I don't think that a person that wrote the book 5 story could have forgotten what happened. I had also felt that the Heat/Storm book was not written by the same writer.....

I thought the same thing about Hindsburg. I knew she had been killed in an earlier book and thought "What the hell?" This book is okay but not up to the quality of the earlier books. Rook comes off seeming a little arrogant and pompous IMO. I'm only about a third of the way through so will reserve final comments til I finish reading. As always, this is JMO.

I just made another new discovery but can't say what it is. I definitely do not believe Straw wrote this book. It's like Rook and Heat are different characters from the earlier books. Again, JMO

Got the book. Read the book. Sort of enjoyed the book but only because it's something new to read.
:: shrugs :: I'm easily appeased. Give me something new to read and I'll be happy.

Finished the book and enjoyed it, BUT it did take me a while to get used to the changes from the earlier books. I'm curious how well the book sold and if there will be any more.

I got the book for my birthday. Read it in a couple of days. I enjoyed it, but I did feel that it was not up to the level of the previous books. I was able to figure out most of the mystery pretty early on. Didn't get the exact killer but did figure out who was involved. Seemed a little light, not as involved as the previous books. It's been awhile since I read the previous books; I totally did not remember Hinesburg being killed off.
I too would be curious to know how well it sold; if this was one last dip into that well, or if they'll keep trying to put out more if sales were good.
