Sorry you are not feeling well. That is no fun anytime but especially around the holidays. I enjoyed your review. I am really starting to love this show. I like the guy who is the owner of the condo, Ben. It will be nice to see Nolan be able to share his thoughts with a friend who has known him for so long. I think the friend was right in suggesting that Nolan should spend some time alone figuring out who he is without a woman. I just hope we don't see him start to date crazy women. Nolan is a good guy. Did anyone place Currie Graham who plays the condo owner Ben, as Standford Raynes from Castle episode 2x19 "Wrapped in Death"? He was the murderer of the week. Also I looked back and Alexi Haley was the writer for that episode.

Nice review, PTVJ. Yes it was awkward for John and Lucy. John was particularly struggling when he saw Lucy with a handsome young firefighter. Later the firefighter talked to Nolan and said Nolan said something that reminded him of his dad. Then he asked him if Lucy was single. John was clearly jealous and probably felt pretty old. I was glad John and Lucy talked later. I think John definitely felt better. Of course he'll have to navigate being alone for the first time in his adult life. Was I the only that thought he would bring the mother and child home for the night or get them a motel room? That stuff happens on TV all the time (or maybe I watch too much Hallmark!) I'm glad they're trying to make it somewhat realistic.
It's hard to like Bradford. I was particularly upset about him bribing the dispatcher, flirting with her, and asking her to work past her shift and break rules that could have possibly gotten her fired just so he could win a contest. I feel like he is too reckless and often puts their lives in danger just so he can be macho or win a competition or is upset about his wife. Bradford is the last one that would make excuses for someone just because they were having personal problems so it's hard to give him a pass on any of his actions. It makes for good TV though. He and Chen are quite interesting to watch.
I too am very interested in Bishop's back story. We keep getting little hints that she had a tough childhood. I'm in no hurry to learn everyone's backstory. Everything is unfolding at a good pace.
Feel better, PTVJ, and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

I'm not even sure totally why but I'm just not getting into it as I hoped I would. I do not like, at least, 3 of the main characters. Out of the shows we watch regularly, it is in the bottom 3rd. I do enjoy your reviews though and getting your take on things. I also enjoy the comments here.

ibmjas, I thought the same thing about getting the homeless woman and child a motel room for the night, especially since Nolan doesn't have to pay his own rent. But not doing it is probably more realistic because what happens tomorrow night, and the next night, and the next. It's an endless problem with no easy answer and as a cop you probably run into it every day.
