I agree pretty much with your review. I was on the fence about this show, just because of how Castle ended, but I have to say I'm beginning to like this show. I like how everyone works well together; the actors are pretty good. The story lines are not as deep as other cop shows, but it seems this show is more about the relationships between everyone rather than police procedures. Regarding the relationship, I feel for Lucy and how she was the one who wanted to end the relationship and be the one to decide it. I'm sure Nolan knew this was coming, but wanted to be the "big" man and take this decision from her. This relationship never sat well with me, although at times it was cute, but this hit a little close to home as this happened to my family, so I'm still not a fan of an older man with a younger woman. In the long run, this may be the best for them at least until they pass their Rookie time and become established officers.

Loved your review. I knew the break up was coming. I think we will see them struggling to cope in the next few episodes. Being together was good for both of them. It was not a distraction, just the opposite. It helped them both move forward in this new career. I would love it if Bishop notices this and goes to them and tells them to get back together. I thought the age thing would be awkward but I really never thought about the age difference when they were together. I don't think we have seen the end of the freezing at gun battles. I hope we see him over come this but it will be a struggle. I loved it when we saw the rookies stick together and not reveal anything about their TO's.The TO's just now noticing how this class of rookies really stick together and that they will not jump at a chance to make their TO's uncomfortable by revealing things they don't want everyone to know just to make their lives easier. That move must have gotten them done respect.

Nice review. I do not like Bishop. She is an opinionated Know-it-all. Trainees private lives are none of her business UNLESS their on the job performances are affected. She should mind her own business. The TO with the druggie for a wife certainly operates under a double standard. Everyone should toe the line except when it comes to himself. My wife is with you ladies. She likes the show a lot. I am still 75/25 in favor of Take Two over The Rookie but it's JMO.

I think it was great that they switched up TOs this week. I don't know if they ever do that IRL, but it was obvious early on that different TOs have different ways of doing things and it's good to get exposed to that. Although you need to listen to your TO, it may not be the only way to do something.
I'm still upset about Bishop working so hard to split up Nolan and Chen. I can see that it could be distracting but the relationship hasn't gotten in the way of their work. I don't understand how it would have ruined Chen's career if they were found out but maybe I just don't understand. Is it against the rules to date? Maybe I missed that. I agree that if Bishop weren't so emphatic about Chen breaking things off, Chen would have happily stayed in the relationship. I really enjoyed them together and thought they were good for each other. Although I didn't think it would last, I was hoping it would last longer than 4 episodes. I guess if it were so easy for Bishop to split them up it wasn't meant to be. Doesn't mean I have to like it though. Plus it provided a nice break from the police work (for the viewer).

I agree about the break up. I think there might be something in Bishops past that has her wanting to break them up. She has told her a couple of times that it might impact her career to be found out. Did this happen to Bishop? I didn't think I would like this relationship with such an age difference but I really never thought about it as they were both going through the same trials with the new job and it was nice to be able to talk about the job with someone. I think they will both have difficulties now that they are apart. I think the relationship was very good for both of them.
