This was definitely a new way to get a show on the air from the model of just a few years ago. Gone are the days of writing a script, getting money to film the pilot, getting people to view the pilot and buy the idea. I would think it would be hard for new people to get a show on the air now. You would need someone with some influence to have a chance?
