Wow! That was harsh. My review is very different, but it doesn't post until after the show airs on the east coast tonight.

This was an interesting take on the show. I got the feeling that the reviewer was really sensitive about age discrimination. I do agree that they had plenty of age-related one liners in the premier, but I highly doubt that they'll continue to be so frequent. I also read the comments after the article and one was from an actual cop who made the point that any sergeant in this day and age would not be getting away with the public bullying that Nolan received. I'd have to agree with that. I think this person needs to give the show a chance to start showing the growth in the characters.

I don't understand the author having such a problem with the age jokes. The whole concept is he's the oldest rookie what did he expect? I thought the old age jokes were pretty realistic for what he would face in real life. I don't think every episode is going to harp on his age but I'm sure it will surface sometimes.
