Did anyone else watch "A Million Little Things" on ABC this week? Some are touting it as ABC's answer to This Is Us, but to me it had more of the tone of the show thirtysomething from the late '80s.
It's about a group of friends and one of the main characters commits suicide in the first few minutes of the show. It's got some edge to it and obviously some of the subject matter is pretty serious (suicide, mental illness, cancer, fidelity) but there are lighter moments too. I can see getting attached to this group of friends and I'm looking forward to seeing more.
*On a side note, Christina Ochoa, who I believe once dated Nathan Fillion, plays one of the characters.

Yes Christina did date Nathan for awhile. I will watch this show next week. I am camping this weekend. I like the cast. Now if the writing can work this show might be a keeper.

Oh yeah, this show touches on so many things that we can all relate to. Most people have either been depressed or know someone who was depressed and maybe even committed suicide. Same with cancer. Same with people cheating on their SO. How many of us are really there for our friends and try to understand what they are going through? Who doesn't want to be part of a close knit group of friends? It shows that everyone has problems, even the ones that appear to have a perfect life. It also shows that everyone needs someone to really care about them.
I always think a TV pilot is tough because it has to introduce you to all the characters and give some of their back story and have a compelling story that will make people want to tune in again. This show grabs you immediately and you quickly get caught up in the characters and want to get to know them better. I'm certainly looking forward to more.
OMG, I knew Ochoa looked familiar but I couldn't place her. Thanks for recognizing her.

looking forward to more. OMG, I knew Ochoa looked familiar but I couldn't place her. Thanks for recognizing her. I can't actually say I recognized her. I never care much about actor's personal lives but my husband commented on how gorgeous the actress was and wondered if we'd seen her in anything else. So I went to IMDB and her name sounded familiar but I still couldn't place her, so I googled her. Google had several articles about her and Nathan dating.
