Two Episodes This Week

ABC's schedule for Thursday night has two back-to-back episodes listed, one at 9 pm ET, episode 10 "Stillwater" , and one at 10 pm ET, episode 11 "Family Ties".

While I enjoyed both episodes last night, I was left wanting for a little more.


It was impossible for me not to compare the alien abduction episode to the Castle one, with all of the fun over hickeys and men in black. I liked the way Take Two came up with a somewhat plausible explanation and had, even Eddie, wondering, but I felt they could have done more with a little humor and fun between Eddie and Sam. At the end of the show, I just didn't feel like there'd been any growth between them.


In the second episode, I felt there was growth in Eddie clarifying just what his relationship with Christine had been and was now, but here again, there was very little that seemed to move Eddie and Sam closer together. The last 10 seconds felt good as he offered to take her home and it was obvious that she was more than happy to be in his company, but that was about the only satisfaction I got from the two episodes in terms of their relationship. I'm not overly anxious to have them be a couple for sure, but I do enjoy a slow, steady march in that direction.


Maybe I'm also feeling like the clock is ticking and with only a couple of episodes left, I'd like to see it end with them closer.

We only got to watch the first episode last night but we really enjoyed it. The mystery of the alien abductions was a lot of fun to try and solve and had my whole family guessing until the very end. When the actual culprit first showed up in a scene my husband turned to my daughter and said, "I've watched enough episodes of Scooby Doo to know that he's involved somehow," and my daughter agreed he was probably right but no one could figure out all the details until the end.

I like how Sam and Eddie can disagree but never put one another down when they do. They are very cute together as are Berto and Monica (my daughter loves Monica.)

My DVR didn't pick up the 2 new episodes. It's set to record any new episodes no matter when they air so I'm surprised. Guess I'll have to watch on demand later.

Agree, nathanfan. I felt like the UFO episode really didn't show any growth between Eddie and Sam. And I was also thinking about the Castle episode. But I had no clue where it was going or how they were going to explain what was happening.

I did feel that we got a little more character growth from the second episode, although it was more of individual growth than between Eddie and Sam. I like that they haven't forgotten Sam is still in recovery and that she still has work to do on that. And I liked getting to see a little deeper into Eddie. I felt that overall the second episode was the better of the two.

PTVJ, any word or any idea when we might know if it's going to get another season?

I was able to stream the first episode after a couple of tries. I enjoyed the alien 👽 possibility. Glad the local sheriff came around and thanked them for finding out what was really happening in this little town.
I will have to try the next episode tomorrow. Big thunderstorm heading my way tonight and my phone can’t find the 2nd episode on the ABC site. It says it’s “missing”😫🙀👀
