Awesome compliments for Nathan from Rob Bowman and Andrew Marlowe on the commentary from the 2 parter - Rob Bowman on Nathan in the "Reckoning" commentary. (Note: Rob mentions, at the beginning of the commentary, how much info and episode they had to squeeze into 8 days of filming for this one, how fast they had to move to get it done in 8 days). "By doing all this script in 8 days, and I'm thinking it's built around Nate. You know, Nate's a one-take guy. I think I can actually pull this off if I'm front and center with Nathan the whole time because he already is ahead of where it's got to be. We'll have a short chat, shoot it, it's gonna work. I can do this in 8 days. But I don't know a lot of other people I could have shot, in the years I've worked, who could have done this in 8 days because Nathan steps up." Also from Marlowe on the intense scene where Castle visits Marcus Gates in prison to get his help.... "I've gotta say, I loved writing this scene, but I loved even more seeing it come to life. When I was editing this scene between Lee and Nathan, just the acting tour de force of both sides, and the layers that they brought on both sides...it was just remarkable. It gave me chills." "The scene just ended up being gripping because of the performances." Not JUST a pretty face!   |

Thanks for transcribing their comments Nathanfan. Nathan was very humble with his response back.
I know he loves to have a challenge instead of the same old thing. I think we are going to see a more challenging Castle character this year. Last year they did try and give him more deeper character things to give him a chance to show some deeper acting skills. Stana got that chance in season 6. I hope they both get some juicy episodes this season.

I'm afraid that Fillion Friday is darn near over and I'm just now finding time to check in. Sigh ........ real life ....... Anyway, I came across a link to a fun radio interview that was done with Nathan back in 2009, just before the pilot aired. The gal is a radio show hostess and Nathan was in bed at the time of the interview! That got a rise out of her! The best line of all comes at the end when she says she'll volunteer to be the Nathan bather when he's old and decrepit. Gotta say that that sounds like THE job for me - only I'd like to get started right away! Bath time Nathan dear!!!!!  WHEW! What that does to my insides! Nothing like "hammer time" talk at 0850 on a Friday morning!  Happy Fillion Friday! I will get to celebrate by waiting rather impatiently for my "I Shoot First" tshirt to arrive. Great gift on this beautiful day down South.  |
