Sorry about that. They had it posted on Twitter but then they took it down so this link no longer worked. Please see the official trailer posted below.

Saw it last night. Nathan was great on Modern Family and American Housewife too.

Hi everyone
Ok, I saw that teaser on the 'tube' as usual and I cannot put into words how I feel about it. Perhaps my bias against Nathan (although I still love him as Castle!) has something to do with it but it just felt like some 'old' guy trying to recapture his youth or something. It just feels... off...? Can't find the words.
Could someone else please say what they think?

I’m willing to give it a watch. I will wait until the pilot airs to see what the feel of this series will be. I think it will be more of a procedural about cops and less comedy scenes. We will see how it flows.

This was in an article on TVLine.com talking about different things from the upfronts. Looks like Nathan knows who his audience is! tvline.com/gallery/upfronts-2018-best-worst-moments-photos/#!14/abc-upfront-nathan-fillion/ If this does not go directly to Nathan's picture (it didn't when I tested it) he is 14th in the gallery.

B Ok, ok..... ... I can't decide if I'll watch one episode or not ... to be honest, I kind of tolerated Nathan in Castle because of the chemistry with Stana -- as most probably know, I'm really an ardent fan of Stana. The direction the show took in S7 and 8, and Castle's character, never sat well with me and right now I can't get past that. I to this day have not watched many of the episodes from season 8. But I know there are MANY who love Nathan and his more "zany", sci-fi characters, so it sounds like people will be happy to have the chance to watch him on his own show. There, I said it.

Except that The Rookie is anything but zany, and if that's what his fans are expecting, they may be disappointed. I've watched the pilot episode. Nathan's character, "John Nolan" is the protagonist, but there are two other rookies along with him, not to mention training officers and superiors. This is probably the most serious role I've seen Nathan do, and I enjoyed it. The entire concept worked better than I expected.

It is going to take a while for me to watch this as a new series, even in the promo as you see him running and jumping on the moving car I remember on Castle, he said "I always wanted to do it" so I am sure there will be numerous plots and lines that will bring me back to Castle,

I loved his serious role as Captain Malcom in the TV series, “Firefly”, and the movie, “Serenity”.
