This sounds cute. Fillion can pull off a role with a gal pal that much younger than he is. My dearly beloved agrees and we will watch it. LOL, sorry Katic, we are not fans of really dark shows.

Hi everyone
PTVJ - thanks for that update. Don't know the actress so I look forward to additional information, maybe a trailer if one is done.
Geezer - for me age usually doesn't matter, however if the actress looks young enough to be his daughter, like Molly Quinn in look, then that would just not sit right with me. I mean Cary Grant with Audrey Hepburn in Charade just never occurred to me to consider the HUGE age gap that surely existed. I believe that Cary was worried how it would look but Stanley Donen believed the movie worked because of his two lead actors and their chemistry. And reading some of the comments it would appear that fans are worried after Nathan's role in Modern Family where he dated someone young enough to be his daughter.

B B, we agree with you but are willing to give it a shot. We were not real comfortable with the Modern Family storyline. If it looks too Father/Daughter, we will not watch for long but we are willing to give it a chance. We would be much happier if the love interest was a 30 something.

One more thing. Nathan does have the whole charm thing going for him. My wife thinks that might make this work if they do it right. We just have to wait and see.

The Modern Family girl looks really young but she is just a couple years younger than O'Neil. If they take the romance as slow as Castle did, it may be 2 or 3 years before they actually go on a date. Really if they take it slow, they can get an idea if the fans are accepting of the relationship. In this age where guys with power or age have been taking advantage of younger women, I would think they would likely have the girl make the first move. It surprises me that they are even trying such an age difference now. Hopefully they will be mindful of the public's reaction and not proceed if it seems creepy like it did on Modern Family.

Geezer - thanks for that reply and yes, until the pilot and how things "look" it would be unfair to judge.
ibmjas - From what Tycho posted it would appear that Nolan & Lucy are already in a relationship..? (hope I read the information correctly) I would add that hopefully Hawley will not repeat the "humor" from S8 of Castle unless of course it's a whole different audience and they love that kind of thing.

As Nolan's age difference to everyone around him is part of the premise of the entire show, I am firmly in the "wait and see" category on this romance.
I'm really hoping they give reviewers a sneak peek of the pilot during the ABC Upfronts this May!
