My take on Absentia...spoiler free

Amazon sent me the first four episodes of Absentia to review for TV Fanatic. (I'm hoping to get the rest of the episodes tomorrow!)

Given how dark the tone of the previews appeared, I wasn't sure what I'd think about this series.

Well, I'm loving it! If you like a serious mystery/thriller without a lot of blood and gore, then this is the series for you.

Stana Katic is wonderful in the lead role. The only comparison to Kate Beckett I could make is that she and Emily Byrne are both investigators, and very strong, intelligent women, but I don't find myself thinking about Beckett while I watch this performance.

The unique aspect of the series is that I feel for all of the characters, even when I don't always like them. And although I don't always agree with the actions the characters take, I can understand why they do what they do.

Also, episodes 3 and 4 have left me breathless at the end, with my heart racing, in a good way.

So that's my spoiler free review. Hopefully I'll get the rest of the screeners and you'll be able to read my reviews of each episode this weekend.

Here in the US, the only way to watch it will be through Amazon. They'll have all ten episodes available to stream this Friday.

Thank you all for posting!!! I can't wait to see ABSENTIA, Stana, cast, crew, and team!!! I don't want to spoil for others, wishing to remain spoiler-free!!! IMHO for me, I can't have too many spoilers!!! (:>)
