No. I came for Nathan Fillion as I watched him on OLTL and I knew who Susan was from Falcon Crest days. I stayed for Stana Katic and Jon Huertas. Without either lead the show is done for me. Together or not at all for my vote.

Without Stana Katic it is over for me. I had already problems with another actor as replacement for the mayor. You can't fool the diehard fans.
Both Stana and Beckett are too important for the show.
No, it will be a show down, that is to say another show.
I'm curious in which way Stana will follow Andrew S. Marlowe, stay or go!

Together or not at all for my vote. It's funny, when I first saw the promos for Castle, I couldn't remember where I knew Nathan from but I knew whatever it was, I liked it. Turned out I'd seen him in lots of things: One Life to Live (never a regular fan but I'd watch it on occasion) Two Guys a Girl, and a Pizza Place, Serenity (which I saw long before I watched Firefly) and he was even one of the scariest villains on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. When I saw Susan Sullivan I was thrilled. I was a big fan of hers way back in the Falcon Crest days. (I watched a lot of soaps as a kid.) But it was Stana Katic who floored me in the pilot. The scene where Castle is guessing her back story while they're reading the crazy fan letters. Every emotion played out on Stana's face without her having to say a word. With that moment and their intense chemistry, I was hooked.  |

I can honestly say is if Stana doesn't re-sign, this will be my finale season. I watch Castle for the love story and not for a comedy hour of Castle and the boys. What would be the purpose of having Castle without his muse/inspiration. Just wouldn't be the same without Castle and Beckett.

[/quote] I remember Rob Bowman talking about this scene after they had cast Stana in the role and started filming. He said they knew she was beautiful but he felt"giddy" when he saw that he had a real actor too. He said he had been leaning towards the other actress for the lead when his dad told him to watch them through the lens. He did, and choose Stana. I am asucker for romance and that's why I stayed as well as for Stana, Jon and Susan. I was a big fan of Susan from FC and I knew Nathan from OLTL but once I saw the impact of S and N together wham bam thank you maam! I was hooked. Then when I met Stana for the first couple of times and actually spent more then a few minutes with her I began to see and feel her passion for learning more and more about her character and giving her life. She became passionate about her acting in those early days and was so eager to learn and to keep learning then she hooked me as a believer in her acting talents. I think she is a good actress but I am truthful I can't honestly say I like most of the non Castle material she has chosen to act in. But for Castle I like both of them as leads and one without the other in this show format means I would have to say goodbye to the series. No matter how much I like Susan, Jon and Tamala, Penny and crew.

Probably dating myself here but I remember Susan Sullivan from her Another World (a long-dead soap) days.....
If either of them does not come back, I think ABC will pull the plug on the show. I'd expect they may get a short 8th season to perhaps tie up loose ends, but I think the network would recognize as well that without both Nathan and Stana, the show will lose major viewership.
