Is a 1 year deal customary on a long running show?? Are their options in such contracts for additional seasons or do they have to negotiate all over again??? Just wondering.

If ABC wants her back for a season 9, the negotiations will start all over again. That's a shame. My opinion of the woman continues to do down. Here is the thing G....Man or Woman....the agent is looking out for her best interest ...and right now they are taking things "one day at a time". The younger demo, and at this point, I mean 35 and under, don't even watch tv anymore. They DVR or stream over their computers or pads, etc so live +3 and +7 become crucial to a shows existence . Also, what we don't know are the terms of the contract. Like in baseball , many actors have a mutual option at the end of the season . They can chose to re-up or they can be bought out by the network.. This is beneficial to both sides, especially if ABC wants to cancel or Stana wants to move on. I wouldn't get mad cause she is a product of the system created by the agents or agencies that represent them. This is what we don't know.... So all we can do is ride it out. And many actors go year to year.... It's just the way business is done. The first 5 years lay the groundwork and from there you try to get the best deal you can. But on the flip side , if you love your show and who you work with and for than it should be a no brainer So that is a big factor as well. Trust me ... She got a good deal otherwise she wouldn't be coming back. ABC will take care of the stars of their hit shows for as long as they need to.
