I loved the two part episodes each year. They all stepped up for these. I remember being frustrated that we never got a decontamination scene so I wrote my one and only fanfiction one shot story about that. If you want to read it here is a link:

This was my favorite 2 parter. It was so frustrating to watch. It just drove me more nuts than I normally am. The unfinished conversation in the freezer, Doc motorcycle boy being there when they got them out, the unfinished conversation in the decontamination tent had me wild, and the ending scene in the precinct when Rick got on the elevator looking so lost. Just heart wrenching.

Although this wasn't my favorite 2 parter, I echo everything else that Geezer said. This was a heartbreaker! I don't know if I ever wanted to wring Kate's neck more than I did when she went to Josh after being freed from the freezer! My heart ached for Castle.

The bomb diffusing was quite the scene and I loved how Kate and Castle were planning on going together, hand in hand. It was so tense but then funny as Castle yanked the wires. The joyous hug was about the only really happy scene for me.

Back at the precinct, Espo said they didn't know how lucky they were and Castle replied, "Actually, I do." That was a pretty emotional moment as he gazed over at Kate.

The ending also tore me up as Castle walked away and Kate was in Josh's arms. At least I took heart in the look on Kate's face as it appeared that she was at least realizing that Castle was truly the person who was there for her and not Josh.
