Nice article. I think this was the project that Ruben left Castle to do. He originally thought the show was going to be shot in NYC. He was doing the commute from LA to NYC. I know he enjoyed working on Castle but his passion was in NYC and it looks like doing this project. I hope he wins another Tony for it. It sounds like an amazing play.

This is GREAT news and the article was so interesting! Ruben is definitely a passionate person and so talented. I saw Lackawana Blues and it was very well done. I sure hope he wins on Sunday.

Although Ruben didn't win for Best Director, Jitney did win for Best Revival of a Play. With the entire cast and crew on stage, the producer who gave the acceptance speech made special mention of how Ruben was the force behind bringing this play back to the stage. On a personal note, I did watch the Tony Awards from beginning to end. I enjoy Broadway and only wish I could afford to go more often. My daughter has been lucky enough to get to Broadway a couple of times. She saw Cinderella on Broadway when she was 4 and Aladdin when she was 6, but I was surprised when she sat down to watch the Tony's with me. I actually had to force her to go to bed and promise that I'd record the rest of the show so she could see the performances the next day. She also asked if we could go see Come From Away, a musical I didn't know anything about until tonight. It is the true story of what happened on 9/11 when 7,000 stranded passengers ended up in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, a town of only 9,000 people! Heartwarming appears to be the main word used in describing it. I'm hoping we can save our pennies and make it into the city for a matinee some time this summer.
