Juliana is beautiful and so much fun. I wish I could travel the way she does. Also, I'm jealous, Fjordmom. I've never seen new born goats!

I wish I had Juliana around to take some good pics....it is very hard to get pics as the kids are either in an inside stall or else running around outside during their "exercise" period and I can't get low enough to get a good frontal pic....but here goes. They are alpine/nubian mix breed. I helped feed the first wave of 10 kids last week...they are about 2 weeks old now and no longer being bottle fed by a human, they are bottle fed via a rack setup that holds the bottles and they can self-feed. They have an outside play area that's too hard for me to get close to to take pics outside, but today inside at one point there was the sweetest "goat pile" in the stall corner...they were all together relaxed on the floor in the corner...unfortunately, as soon as I went over to take a pic they started to get up, so this is the best I could do. And this little cutie is part of the second wave of 9 kids born Monday evening/Tuesday morning, so just 2-3 days old, and I helped bottle feed these kids this morning.

Oh my, they are so darn cute! Great photos. Just curious, do you work at the farm or volunteer? And how often do you visit?

Oh my, they are so darn cute! Great photos. Just curious, do you work at the farm or volunteer? And how often do you visit? I just visit the farm. I originally went there to purchase some raw milk and the owner was out doing chores and we just chatted up a storm...she is a wealth of knowledge and loves to share information...and you know I was immediately hooked when she offered the chance to feed the kids....I think she has one more wave of kids coming so I'll probably be able to get a couple more kid feedings in....otherwise it will just be occasional trips to purchase milk and an occasional chat with the owner and the goats.

That was so cute!!! And I think Juliana should consider her goat obsession as therapeutic, not a "problem"!! Maaaaaaa!

Fjordmom loves her goats too!!!! Meet my two new kids.... FRECKLES: ANGEL: I had to put one of my 13-year-old goats to sleep this past spring, so this gave me the opportunity I was waiting for....room in the goat stall to get two Nigerian dwarf kids....without horns and smaller in stature than George, my remaining older goat. George has LARGE horns and he is not mean but you do have to be mindful around him. Freckles was born March 6th, Angel on April 21st. They are both wethers (neutered males). Needless to say, Freckles has little black freckles on his nose, and he is just a wonderful gregarious kid!!!! I decided on "Angel" for the youngest kid because his face is sooooo darn sweet that everyone, including myself, was prone to saying "she" instead of "he" when referring to him. What he lacks in size right now he makes up for in VOCALNESS!!!!! Since it's been 13 years since I had kids, I had forgotten how small they are when they're kids and how easily they can worm their way through the tiniest opening. It was a challenge to get things "kid" proof, but things are pretty much under control now! My horse, Lars (whose face you see every time you read one of my notes ), has always been great around goats. George has been exerting his male dominance in the goat herd which is normal in establishing the goat herd order, but I do keep an eye out to make sure he doesn't get too ornery.

Fjordmom, I'm sorry to hear you had to put one of your goats to sleep. I've had to make that decision with some of my pets and I know it's never easy. But congratulations on your new family members. They are both adorable! And I love how Angel seems to have a set of four boots!
