Haven't got to it yet but don't think you have spoiled much. Not to be contrary but I enjoyed the previous book and all the others too.

I finished the book. Ended up much better than I expected. I have to say, I did enjoy this one. And I did not see that villain coming.
It would be great if they could continue the Nikki Heat/Derrick Storm partnership in future books.

Motowncf it would be nice to see the books continue. It would be logical to have both characters in future books.

Still on my Longmire kick, but will start on HEAT STORM today. I am so looking forward to it. I would be delighted if the books continued also. They have been such a great adventure to me. I tend to read 2 books at a time so on to HEAT STORM and MESSENGERS(Longmire). Books and reading have been a lifelong passion of mine. I recently read that books and, thus, bookstores are making a resurgence which is great news for the readers amongst us.

I'm 8 chapters into it. It's well written and a good story. I'm hooked. As someone said, it would be nice if the Heat-Storm stories continued. I wonder if the sales for HEAT STORM would warrant the continuation? It would be awesome if they did  |

It's a beautiful day in northern Wisconsin so I sat on the patio and finished HEAT STORM. I felt it was a very good story and well written. Just a couple of thoughts about the book. I felt that Rook was just a minor character in the story and that the book was just a bridge to introduce us to Heat and Storm. The last paragraph let us know that Castle is dead. The last couple lines made me think that we would hear more from Heat and Storm. Did anyone else feel that way??

The books have always had Nikki Heat as the focus. I think it would be fun to see Nikki and Derrick go after some bad guys. They did have Storm and Rook work together quite well. I just hope they let Andrew and his friend continue to do these books.

I was just reading this thread to decide if I'll buy the 2 latest books or not. I loved the previous ones but after hearing the negative comments about High Heat I decided to wait for the last one to come out and eventually then read the two books. From what I've read, you convinced me! I'm glad you all enjoyed the book.
Tycho, if you didn't know 5 words, I wonder how many I won't understand :-)
And what do you mean by "they killed AH and TPW off"? Don't tell me they named 2 characters in the book after them and killed them lol.
