I finally got to see Rogue One last week. It was exciting for two reasons. First because I'm a big Star Wars fan and second, because my husband and I went to see it together. Due to our schedules, lack of babysitters, and tight budget, we don't get to do that very often.
If you saw Rogue One, what did you think?
I love that this entire story is a lead in to the original Star Wars and yet, a stand alone story all it's own.
What did you think of the past character that were CGI'd into this movie?
And for anyone who didn't know, the new droid, K-2SO, is voiced by Alan Tudyk, who played Wash on Firefly and is Nathan Fillion's good friend.

I really enjoyed it and am sorry it is just a stand-alone movie, because I liked the characters. Couldn't help but notice how similar the ending was to Serenity. #Cantstopthesignal.

We went on my birthday. I liked it but it was not my favorite. The robot ,played by Alan, stole every scene he was in. This was the day that Carrie Fischer died so the last scene brought a few tears.

Loved it! But I'm a Star Wars junkie dating back to that fateful day in 1977 when my mom took me to see "A New Hope" in the theaters. She heard it was all the rage, so took my best friend Shelley and myself. I was eleven.
Fast forward to having two boys and a hubs who likes all things geek, well, yeah, the legacy continued. Anyway, loved this side story, and it makes complete sense now as to why it was told. I adored K2SO... and developed a quick fondness for ALL the characters. I can appreciate their mission and how the ending will project into A New Hope. Their mission came at a great cost. It was epic.
I did not know Alan voiced K2 - VERY cool! Thanks for that tidbit!

Also a fan. We've seen them all and enjoyed them. A great adventure and escapism.

I finally got around to seeing it today! Of course it didn't hurt that it was National Popcorn Day. LOL
Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It was a great prequel of sorts to A New Hope. I swear there is just something about that darn Imperial March that never fails to give me the chills.
That end scene?.........right to the gut! How are we gonna live without Han and Leia?
K2SO was fantastic for the comedic relief. Alan was fantastic and really does great voice work. At times he even reminded me a bit of C3PO.

I thought Alan did a great job, but I knew in advance that he was K2SO so I kept picturing Alan when he'd speak. I'm actually happier when I don't recognize the voice and can immerse in the movie. I always have that problem when I hear Nathan's voice because I always recognize his voice and it takes me out of the movie a little.

CF40 ... I had the SAME thought! Loved how K2 reminded me of C3PO. Just something about C3 & R2. They're like old friends.

We saw the movie on opening weekend....loved it! I really liked how they tied it to Episode 4 (aka the original Star Wars).
I did know that Alan was the voice of K2; the cast was on Jimmy Kimmel a couple of nights before the premiere. I didn't know it until then.
We took our grandkids to see it over New Year's weekend. Seeing that last scene felt so different from seeing it before Carrie had passed, and then seeing it after.
Overall, great movie, we liked it very much.
