I finally started reading this latest novel. I'm about a third of the way done and liking it a lot, per usual. I did peek at the ending and am looking forward to seeing HOW they get there. I would like to know what others thought of High Heat without giving anything away. Will you read the next book?? I don't think this book made the best seller list like all the others did so the next book will probably be the last. I, for one, will be very sorry to see them end. I have very much enjoyed each and every one multiple times. The Heat novels have been a dear friend and I will miss getting reacquainted each Fall, much like I MISS the show.

Hi geezer2008, I haven't read the book yet. Although I've loved them all, I've been a little apprehensive to read this one. I fear finding Nikki and Rook in the same predicament as Castle and Beckett by the end and I'm not sure I could take that. The pre-order thread turned into a discussion about the book. Here's the link: possibilityforjoy.proboards.com/thread/1251/order-high-heat-richard-castleBut if anyone wants to add more thoughts here they should feel free.

Thanks for finding the thread. It will be better to add comments here. Maybe there will be people who get the book for Christmas and will want to discuss the book?

I'm sure they will tie everything up in the next book, if indeed, it is the last book.

Maybe they will give a fanfiction writer a chance to do a "Castle" book. There are some amazing writers out there that could do the story and make it good again. I know they have done this in the past with series that have been canceled. We will have to wait and see what happens.

I was disappointed that they took Nikki and Rook down that road, since I was so completely unhappy with how that was handled on the show. I do have hope that it will be resolved better in the next book than it was on the show, as they did such a great job with Nikki and Rook's wedding, as opposed to Rick and Kate's wedding.

I agree motown Heat and Rook's wedding was the best. It was what I really believed Rick and Kate deserved but the writers disappointed us once again. JMO

Too bad the boys in the poker game couldn't right them....I often wondered how their styles would differ....also, they would carry clout to get a movie deal done and isn't that what we all wanted....LIFE AFTER CASTLE?

Having read this I have now thrown the book behind the sofa! Well not literally more like I wanted to throw it out of the window. Why why down this road again. I'm not a happy bunny!
