Since java gave us the Christmas thread here last year, I’ve decided to start one for 2016. I’m going to try not to repeat the same videos we had last year, although we had some great ones and if you want to check them out you can do so here... possibilityforjoy.proboards.com/thread/638/christmas-thread?page=1Once again, feel free to share whatever appeals to you or touches your heart this time of year. Everyone is welcomed to join in and enjoy. I'll kick it off with this... On Monday I watched the CMA Country Christmas special. I've always loved Nat King Cole's rendition of The Christmas Song, but I thought Kelsea Ballerini did a wonderful job with it.

I was a huge fan of The Monkees as a kid. I started watching the reruns of their show when I was about 3 years old. This is from their Christmas special that aired in 1967. They sing "Riu Chiu" a Spanish Christmas carol written in the 1500s. It's always been a favorite of mine. I've posted two different videos. The first is better quality. I love how Mickey Dolenz concentrates on getting all the words right, and Davy Jones looks and smiles at each one of his band mates. The second video is the same performance (a bit poorer visual quality) but has the ending of the show where they invite their entire crew on stage to say Merry Christmas to their families. Between the candles and the sparklers I'm a little surprised they didn't set themselves on fire.

WOW! Was that ever a blast from my past! I can't believe how YOUNG those guys look. I was a big fan and watched their show every week. I'm really impressed with their acappella singing!
Speaking of acappella, I don't know how to find a video clip of it but this past Monday on the CMA Country Christmas special, there were several wonderful performances and one of my favorites was an acappella song done by Rascal Flats. Those guys sound great together!

It's not a song or a video but it certainly makes me giggle.

I think "Tiger" , our 4 legged beast was asking the same question. Crazy cat just keeps waking us up all night when we are at home. She loves the motorhome and doesn't cry all night there. Yup she is on Santa's "S" list and the s is not for special.... Tonight the door will be locked and she doesn't get to snuggle.

This is a favorite of mine. I used to love the old Christmas specials that Bing and so many others had. I don't care much for most of the ones today.

Don't remember if this was posted last year or not but, since I just finished up my first semester of Latin last week, I thought I'd share

That was a treat...both for nostalgic reasons because I faithfully watched the Monkees show when it was on...and they did such a lovely job with that carol....it is one of my favorites!

My daughter's favorite Christmas song this year is Let It Snow. She loves the more original versions by Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra, but I'm posting a different one. I'd never even heard of Brett Eldredge until I saw him on the CMA Christmas show. (I used to be a big country fan but haven't listened to much lately.) He's got a great voice, especially for this particular song.

Hi everyone PTVJ thanks for reviving this thread. ibmjas - Little Drummer Boy duet with Bowie & Crosby who knew that would work. Just shows that music knows no barriers. One of my favorites. For me, Christmas doesn't begin until I see this advert. Always makes me smile... B.

If you have never heard of the Pentatonics then you are in for a treat. Here is a group that really knows how to sing. They only use their voices. There are no other instruments. They were on Jimmy Kimmel this week. I bought their Christmas album last year.

Love this group, Tycho! They have another Christmas special on TV tomorrow night (Wednesday) at 7:00 central time. I can't wait to just sit back and listen!
