Official word is that Stana has signed a one year contract. Paul Lee, President of ABC just said at the ABC Upfronts that he would like to see Castle and Grey's Anatomy "run for many years to come." I say we just enjoy the upcoming season 8, promote Castle as much as we can and let the future take care of itself. For today, this is all good news.  |

Official word is that Stana has signed a one year contract. Paul Lee, President of ABC just said at the ABC Upfronts that he would like to see Castle and Grey's Anatomy "run for many years to come." I say we just enjoy the upcoming season 8, promote Castle as much as we can and let the future take care of itself. For today, this is all good news. Do we know for sure it was a one year contract, or just that Stana signed for Season 8? I know I am splitting hairs, but it is hard for me to see Paul Lee stating they want Castle to run for years if his two stars have made it clear that season 8 is the end. To me it makes more sense that they would have signed multi year deals, or at least one year with some kind of option for an additional year/ years. If it was just for one year, then why the issues with Stana's deal. To me the thing that would cause problems in the negotiations would be ABC wanting a longer deal. Just thinking out loud. We will see. |

We will see. From what I hear, it's a one year deal. If you notice, no one is saying how long Nathan's deal is. All it means is that if ABC wants the show back for season 9, they'll have to renegotiate. There are far too many factors, many of them we may never know, so it's really impossible to speculate. For now, I'll just be happy with Castle Season 8! |

Stana tweeted that after talking with the new show runners she is happy to sign on for season 8. I think this is official now.
I think she was waiting, out of respect for Milmar, to make their farewell before making her announcement.

Yes it is!!! After last night's episode, I thought if this is it, I felt satisfied, but it left me wanting so much more. I wanted to see where their lives were going to go. This was an absolutely beautiful episode and these actors are fantastic, I am excited for season 8.
