A great review Christine and I agree with your take with Beckett in politics. I can't see it working.

Loved your review. I agree about the Senate seat and politics but just like her venture into the FBI counter terrorism unit she has to try and learn that she doesn't want to compromise. Maybe she will get an appointment to fill a term for a senator who had to leave his seat? After finishing out that term she never wants to return and she can go back into police work again? Great final, glad it didn't have to be the series final. Looking forward to season 8!

Fine work, as always, Christine!!! Thank you for pointing out to me Kate's expression, as Rick related what he had experienced!!! I loved the suspense; speeches--deliveries and reactions--Stana and Nathan--perfection; the swing set scene love and support, embrace and kiss; the post-barn battle hug; the immediate and precinct family interactions and devotion
As for those “little CASTLE babies,” I could make a case that Kate, just for a second considered the beverage in her Champagne flute and may have only pretended to sip it?!

Good job, Christine. Always like your take on the show, and love that you remember all those great quotes. And thanks for refreshing my memory about when Castle told Kate the "story" of finding his friend dead on the beach. I remembered that he fooled Kate with that story, but didn't remember what episode it was from.

I remembered that he fooled Kate with that story, but didn't remember what episode it was from. That story really stuck with me because it seemed so obvious that there was at least a hint of truth in it. I was always very disappointed that there was no follow up. Well, never say never. They just made us wait five seasons to get there! Nothing ever comes quickly on Castle.

AWESOME, as usual. LOL, but I think that this is the first time all year that I totally agree with everything you said. I agree with you and others that I can not see Kate in the murky world of politics. It will be hard enough to maintain her integrity if she becomes a Captain. THANK YOU again for a year of thoughtful reviews. I enjoyed one and all.

Perfect, Christine! Agree with everything you said!
As far as Kate's political career, not sure. The FBI job was a good indication that Kate would struggle if she would go down that road. The line between right and wrong is not well defined, and she is all about getting justice and is not about playing games for her own personal gain. I think I mentioned elsewhere, at some point, that I see her going more down the line as a chief justice, more than any other political career. But, if she is meant to be a senator, I have no doubt she would be the best there was!
Looking forward to season 8! I want so say I have high hopes, but that has gotten me into trouble in the past! LoL! SO, I will look forward to it with eager anticipation. Even if the island moves a little bit with the new show-runners and any new writers, I have no doubt it will still be exciting. And I am thrilled Rob Bowman is staying on! The man oozes passion for what he does!

And I am thrilled Rob Bowman is staying on! The man oozes passion for what he does! I have to tell you Ckat, I wish the Beckett character would just tell everyone that she appreciates the offer for a run at the State Senate seat, but right now, at this time, she is just not ready. This is the first time in at least 7 years that she can finally take a deep breathe and just "Exhale". There are no evil Senators after her, 3XK and the monster Face Envious Doctor are gone, and she is a newlywed who really never had a proper wedding or a proper honeymoon. She is always being pushed and pulled and told how awesome she is and blah, blah, blah. The Special Investigator guy got inside her head and told her she is awesome, so off to DC she went. The guys from the "Party" told her she is being watched and they have noticed, etc. She is a rising star, and the time is now to push forward with a campaign into more endless hours and traveling back and forth to Albany and here she goes again. And where is Rick? Oh...you know...her "Brilliant Partner and Husband"? Once again, he becomes an afterthought and left to buy another condo in Albany with an office cause he can write anywhere. Don't get me wrong....she is GREAT.....and she is DRIVEN....and she is on her way to something Epic and I believe it is the Senate Seat that Simon Doyle predicted. But for once, I would love to hear Kate say, because she has grown so much, "I want to be a newlywed. I want to spend time with my husband. I want to go to the Hamptons for a week and just watch the waves because I can. I want to take the honeymoon to the tropical island paradise cause my husband is so stinking rich that he can afford it. I want to go out with my friends or have them over. I want to see my mother in law live on Broadway. I want to go to a Yankees game with my father. And oh yes, I wouldn't mind starting a family. Maybe I take some law classes with my step daughter so I can bond with her. In short, I just want to be normal for as long as I can before I get pulled down into the crab pot by you all other crabs who at some point will make me accept the offer to go forward and serve the people. " We have seen how much Beckett has been through. Can't she just be Beckett for a while? Solve cases, speak for the dead, become a Captain, but just take that deep breathe and live a little.
