In interviews this summer Nathan said that all he took from the Castle set was a piece of the precinct floor because by the time he came back to the studio, things were torn down and gone. He picked the floor piece out of the dumpster.
It would sure seem fitting that he should have the Writer vest. That was such a clever prop and it totally summarizes the Castle character. I wonder if it'll just be gathering dust in a prop house or if it'll ever be for sale.

I would think over the years that they had more than one "Writer" vest. I also would think that Nathan might have that in a frame at his house?? I bet he also took a few more items as he loves to have those to give away at the Nerd HQ every year to raise money for charities.

IIRC they told us at Castle Con, the one that we all attended, that none of the items are allowed to be taken by the actors, or anyone else. The question came up for Luke regarding Beckett's beautiful coats. All items are the property of ABC and are archived into their costume department for future 'who knows what'... so no, I'm sure Nathan could not have taken the Writer Vest. I'm sure he would've loved to have had it, but it is the property of ABC. |

I saw on Nathan's Twitter he was asking about ideas for a new t-shirt design to use for charity. Someone tweeted they could do a design that looked like the writers vest. Nathan liked the idea. I would love for him to embrace Castle more now that it has been cancelled also along with his beloved Firefly.
