Sorry, I should have posted this sooner.
Nathan's next episode of Modern Family has been delayed 1 week. It will air on Wednesday, Nov. 24, right before Thanksgiving. It's a Thanksgiving themed episode and it looks like he'll be participating in a friendly(?) game of backyard football with the family, now that he's the daughter's boyfriend. Talk about a different character! I have a hard time even picturing Nathan playing backyard football!

I watched the episode tonight and SWOON! Nathan was looking really, really good with the full hair and he's so trim and lean these days. I do wish they'd have let him lose the white gloves. That seemed like a pretty lame thing to emphasize him being a vane celebrity. I found it very distracting. I'm going to focus on his comment about heading to a nude beach and hold THAT thought as I drift off to sleep tonight!!!

I agree nathanfan1, the gloves were more distracting than anything. I didn't love everything about this episode but Rainer Shine made me laugh more often than not.

The appearance was not much to write home about. It was brief and rather dumb IMO. However ......... DANG, that man looks hot in leather!!!!!!

Looks like Nathan will be back on Modern Family on Wednesday, Feb. 8th. It's the Valentine's Day themed episode.
Nathan Fillion and Elizabeth Banks guest star.
Title: "Do You Believe in Magic"
Summary: Fearful that the romance between him and Claire is fizzling, Phil calls upon his altar ego, Clive Bixby, get Valentines day back on track. Meanwhile, much to Gloria’s chagrin, Jay shows a bit of child favoritism when he and Gloria must deal with Joe’s inappropriate Valentine gift-giving and Manny’s dating indecisiveness. When Cam and Mitch try to empower Lily, Haley and Sal (Elizbeth Banks) to stand up to the men in their lives, things don’t turn out as planned and go overboard. Finally, Alex discovers she has a secret admirer who may be a little too involved with family.

Cool! I was wondering when he'd show up again! I'm not sure when I'll catch it though. We are catching up with Big Bang Theory (Which Nathan had an episode on too) and we're rather behind on Modern Family.

I just read that Nathan will be making one more appearance as Rainer Shine on Modern Family this coming Wednesday. It sounds like a fun and unusual type of episode in that the whole thing takes place in 5 minutes of the casts lives. The summary indicates this may be the end of Nathan's character's romantic relationship but it's great that what was originally intended to be 3 appearances has turned into 6. They must have liked the way that little story line worked.

Here is some info on what will happen in this episode:
As for the Dunphy's eldest daughter, Haley (Sarah Hyland), she and her boyfriend Rainer (Nathan Fillion), will have to rethink their relationship during his birthday celebration. They have five minutes before the cake arrives. They have five minutes to think about whether to continue the relationship or not before the rest of the partygoers burst into a chorus of "happy birthday."

It was an interesting 5 minutes! The proposal came so quickly but I like the way they had the characters get realistic and be honest about their differences, especially age. I was surprised though, that they still left it unresolved and sounding like Nathan could be back yet again. He's already done twice as many episodes as was first intended and isn't the season almost over? Not that I mind drooling over him on Wednesday night! DANG, he's looking fine!
