Which was your favorite killer/case of the week?

My favorite killer is the grandfather in A Chill Runs Through Her Veins. In general though, I often don't care much about the COTW. It's the interaction of Castle and Beckett as they do their dance of getting to know each other. Their banter and their theory building and how Castle could get under her skin and yet she also noticed his caring and thoughtful nature and he brought a little fun into her life. I loved what was going on at the loft, watching the loving relationship between Castle and Alexis and how they would tease each other and getting to know the flamboyant but caring Martha. Of course, Espo, Ryan, Lanie, and Montgomery were an incredible part of the chemistry of those early seasons. A lot of my favorite episodes, I can't even tell you much about the COTW. It just provided a framework for all the fun. So my answer for best COTW is going to be different from my favorite episode. Home is where the Heart Stops is my favorite episode in Season 1.
