"I recently started watching Downton Abbey and have a special place in my heart for these two. I've seen a lot of a trouble keeping a couple apart, not only do Anna and John Bates fall in love while he's still married to his estranged wife, Vera, but Vera shows up and blackmails John into leaving Anna, then when they finally reunite and he's on the verge of divorce, Vera spoils it all yet again. And then, when they finally think they've got her, Vera kills herself and stages it like Bates killed her.
I have so much love for these two. Not only did Anna tell Bates she'd be with him in anyway possible, even if it meant only being his mistress instead of his wife, Bates loved and respected Anna enough to turn down her offer until they were properly married. Then Anna did everything she could to get her husband out of prison and end Vera's posthumous revenge once and for all.
You've got to shed some happy tears for a love like that."

@tinuvielundomiel on Jul 16, 2013, at 2:33pm:
As most of you know, I love British history and have a weird obsession with Anne Boleyn. So I love the show The Tudors, not exactly accurate history but they really did a great job capturing the characters. Anyways, one of my favorite episodes is Episode 7 of season 1 when the Sweating Sickness hits London. The Tudors actually shows Anne getting the Sweating Sickness, something many previous movies/books/miniseries always skipped over. She did come very close to dying.
At this point in the show, Anne has truly fallen in love with Henry VIII (to her eventual doom in season 2). This is my favorite kiss scene between them because there is no lust or wild passion in it, just pure love after she nearly faced death and he thought he would lose her forever.
My apologies for the poor quality but it was the only video I could find that had just the scene I wanted."
