Alexi Hawley co Showrunner per TV Line

Castle‘s behind-the-scenes shuffle isn’t over just yet.
Not 24 hours after it was announced that longtime Castle scribe Terence Paul Winter was stepping up as showrunner for the recently ordered Season 8, TVLine has confirmed that Castle alum Alexi Hawley is returning to the ABC drama, as co-showrunner — the same position he just got done filling on Fox’s freshly snuffed The Following.

Hawley’s Castle resume includes a Seasons 2 through 4 run as a producer, opening with a stint as executive story editor. During that time he also penned nine episodes, including “Kill Shot,” “To Love and Die in L.A.” and the Adam Baldwin-guesting “Headhunters.” His producing credits also include Body of Proof and State of Affairs, the latter of which he created.
The new Winter/Hawley combo fills the void left by David Amann, who is not continuing with Castle into Season 8.

As previously reported, sources confirm for TVLine that negotiations continue between ABC and leading lady Stana Katic.

Alexi was one of my favorite writers. Glad to have him back in the Castle family. I think we are in good hands.

If he comes back. You now then that ABC has their mind on keeping Castle for longer than one year.

Will Beall branched into features films and it changes his pay scale for writing so I was told he wouldn't be able to return as they couldn't afford to pay him.

Wasn't Jim Adler a writer on revenge. If so. Maybe ABC will get him back now that Revenge is cancelled.

They need to bring on new writers as some of the plots from past seasons are getting so far fetched and out there. Split in half bodies, frozen heads, faces removed from other people and surgically placed on others. Beckett forgetting she was married and FBI not catching it in background checks, Bad plot weddings 06x23 horrible finale I think the worst I have ever witnessed. Character assassinations that creators gave us in the first place and now we don't know who are couple really are the characters have changed so much. I am hopeful the series will return to it's creative roots and get back to feeling like a cop show with believable cases and a couple who look and ACT like they are in love and newlyweds not arranged marriage.

I can go for a mulligan on the wedding. Even though the plot was interesting and the wedding vows was sublime. They left out Laney, Javi, Kevin and Capt Gates. Then I thought, how will they keep the rest of the storyline after the wedding for instance the honeymoon, finally killing 3xk and Dr Nieman and what about whats going to happen Monday.  I can't wait to see what TPW/Hawley team will come up with next season

Will Beall wrote most of my favorite episodes. I would live to see him return!
