Looks like the worst possible scenario is happening. It's hard to believe ABC will cancel if they've worked out a deal. DAMN!

Well Nathan signed his contract. Karma..So, this is Nathan fault and not because of "Budget Cuts". He had a stipulation that Stana had to go. I don't care how much people want to say that Nathan is a swell guy. No actor or actress would have a stipulation like this if ego and insecurities weren't involved. So, instead of ABC pulling the plug they decided to give into the man-child ego. Now, he gets to use Castle popularity to revive the failed show of Firefly. Being in finance, there are several ways to cut cost and cutting a co-lead wasn't one of them. Several people already hit on a few. However, there are others. 1. Clothing Budget, 2. Location 3. Downsizing of cast (minor characters and BTS employees) If they wanted to save money why have Toks still there, why still use Molly are Susan (even though I love Susan). So, everything does point back to Nathan and his ego. Can't see a women having more star power than him. I don't care what these Nathan Fillion die hard think. Stana does have more star power, see she is only 38. Nathan is a has been, or really a never was, because he was only known by Firefly and you see how that turned out. See I never really knew either Fillion or Katic, but after this I will support by watching anything that she stars in after this. Nathan not at all. Because I am not into SyFi or his want to be comedy. Read more: possibilityforjoy.proboards.com/thread/1076/season-9-coming-soon#ixzz47sBnK6HX

How do you know he had a stipulation that Stana had to go? Did you read it somewhere? I'd love to know what reputable source you're getting your information from.

But, as a fan of both Nathan and Stana, what you are saying is offensive. Okay, so you feel how you feel, and you have every right to state what you feel and how you want to say it. But should you? Is it kind? Until you absolutely have hard-core facts, I would really appreciate your off-color comments about any of the cast or crew being kept in check. Spewing venom does nothing to help the situation. It may make you feel better, but it does nothing to help anyone or anything. Respectfully..... Be mindful of your words and how they could affect people. That's all I'm saying. This is not the place for unloading hate or distain for anyone. Actor or otherwise.

Well said Castlekat and castlelover66. Absolutely no-one knows what's been going on with either Nathan or Stana and I think it's extremely sad that there is so much vitriol out there against both of them. I know everyone has a personal view on the situation but really the actors are out there earning a living! They have to do what's best for them. I think the whole thing has been handled poorly by all involved - ABC, Nathan and Stana - but it's showbusiness and it always seems to be fought out in the media with so many people taking sides.
I will miss Castle but it's a TV show and if/when it finishes that will be sad but hey it's not the end of the world. I've invested a lot in it too - I've laughed and cried in equal measures but I still have the DVDS and life will go on!

Not sure what is going on and not sure I care. The only thing I would wish for is an end to the series where Beckett isn't killed off. Her death would really irritate the hell out of me. As far as I can tell, the Castle real world events are unknown. I am a huge Katic fan, but, I refuse to cast aspersions because I don't have any idea what occurred. If I allow in all the negativity, perhaps it will ruin the Castle memories that I cherish. I chose to ignore all the unsubstantiated drama and hope to see Stana's next endeavor. Though..... I am wishing she goes more main stream with her efforts. Life will go on. I have my Castle memories and friends. THAT is more that I could have ever hope for 9 years ago.

Looks like the worst possible scenario is happening. It's hard to believe ABC will cancel if they've worked out a deal. DAMN! That last promotional picture of 8x22 of Beckett and Castle is now etched in my mind. That is the one I will always remember. It looks like she is saying goodbye. This is so sad. I just hope they do her right and not kill her off. At least leave the door open a little.

The truth of the matter is, we'll probably never know the whole truth and therefore I don't think it's fair to point fingers and place blame.
There are rumors flying everywhere from people who claim "inside knowledge" but won't put their names to it to back it up.
Even as I agree that the current state of affairs is a veritable train wreck, this show and the actors and crew have brought us years of joy. I think that's worth remembering and for that alone they deserve our respect.

Saw this tweet this morning and felt it was appropriate:
there's something you all need to understand: WE ARE ALL HURT HERE. Some people are just more respectful than others.
