Geezer, Csttraveler018, I could not agree with you more, I will not watch season 9 and am just devasted the way season 8 was handled. They took a wonderful show and this season just decimated it, I have never been invested in a TV show ever like I was in a Castle, I could go on but again as stated avove I will have to stop. How could they possibly have season 9 without Stana? One would hope the they find a new name for this series because Castle would be a lie. And no, I could not watch either. I have to be loyal to the show and more importantly Stana and Marlowe. That is the day the Castle OCD died in the fandom. If only...they would have let us have the wedding we were all waiting for then after have Castle disappear all would have been fine. We could have gone with that but oh no they had to rip our  out. I saw one on facebook, and broke into tears. I can't possibly look at any more. This is just so heartbreaking. It's been hard enough knowing all this time, that one day, our beloved show would come to an end. But never, ever, did I dream it would end like this. It's like a Greek tragedy. And you know my dear CK....the Greeks invented tragedy. Not only did we invent it, we refined it. Lets just say, it is not good. I really feel for you. This show has effected so many people in so many different ways. Wow....who would have thought that was possible? Thanks to Marlowe for creating this cup of awesomesauce. Did you ever wonder what would have happened had they had the big wedding at the Hamptons? This show may have gone on for years to come. So much so that I think Dionesus would be proud! Without Stana, there is no Kate, no Caskett, no CASTLE (the show), no Castle (the man) as we have learned to know and love him, and no "Always" for Caskett, Milmar, or the fans. Nathan's success, in part, has been due to Stana, and what she has brought to the show; to them. CASTLE IS RICK & KATE. Castle, from Season 9 on out, if that should happen, is not Castle. Stana has made him the Castle that will live on for us ardent, devoted fans, who knew what it meant to always believe in the possibility for joy, every week, with our beloved couple. And to me, with the finale this season, CASTLE, as I know it, will end. Alas, "If Only", is one thing that will remain.... So, in my humble opinion, if Nathan had any ray of hope of a successful season 9, whatever his feelings for Stana aside, he should've held on to her with both hands. He is nothing without her. And that, my friends, as much as I love Nathan, is how I feel. So, one, or both, in this case, of the main characters is brought to ruin. A Greek tragedy, indeed. Kman.... that is the one thing I will never understand. WHY could we not have had the Hampton's wedding, and Castle get abducted immediately following. If some of that non-sense would've been omitted, we would've had time for the wedding of the decade. It was set up beautifully - in every way. And now, too little too late. What a tremendous mis-judgement and waste of potential 6 x 23 turned out to be. If only, indeed - we would've spent the summer in honeymoon mode with them, and eagerly returned in the fall for season 7. Instead, we were snapping off our TV's in utter betrayal. I was crushed. You & I, and our Greek blood, it's gonna take us a lot of time to get over this one..... |

This is why I call the ABC the American Backstabbers Network. And Nathan should have crossed the line and stood with Stana. At this point he really had nothing to lose. I mean show some moxy and grow a pair. This show could be saved, but all roads lead to Caskett. Without them you have nothing but a bunch of people and maybe even some ABC executives wondering how much better the show would be if they still had Stana around. And For every time Rick looks lost and turns to Haley and she has to remind him that she doesn't know what to say because she is not Kate and no one can ever be her, there is a young girl watching TNT with her mom being inspired by Det Kate Beckett , dreaming that this is who she wants to be and how awesome it would be to have someone like Castle as her husband. If only.... And I had always hoped that TNT would have picked it up and done 12 shows year. But this show is such a mess now, it couldn't even be sold at auction. I keep hoping for miracles but we are running out of time. Oh well... CK you are so passionate ....Greek blood runs hot ...always |

I agree I will not be watching if they have a season nine. I must say that Season 8 has been a total let down for me. I have yet to watch a complete episode and will just have to wait to get the dvd to complete my collection. Trust me my collection will stop at Season 8 because I do not have an interest in season 9. I just wished they had just ended theseries one time instead of dragging on and just loose more viewers.

How? Why? WHY would one even ATTEMPT this? If it was a matter of money, they should've paid Stana what she wanted. She is worth every. single. cent. they would give her. That Big Bang Theory star, whatever his name is, who plays Sheldon... he gets a MILLION DOLLARS PER EPISODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SAY WHUT?  Yes. Filming was held up last year waiting for him to get what he wanted. He put his foot down, and by golly, whatever network that show is on, agreed. And it's a 30 minute show! SO, sorry Backstabber Corporation... our Kate and her badass ninja skilz, not to mention the Ying to Castle's Yang... yep...what were they thinking? Kate Beckett, and her amazing story, will live on. She will continue to inspire, and people of every age will fall in love with her. Nobody can deny her beauty, inside and out, nor her willingness to fight for the victims, her determination to be all she can be, and her ability to overcome. Even when she builds up walls, denies, resists and slams the door behind you, love wins. She captured our heart. Nobody else will do in our Castle world. And that is the reason I cannot look at any photos, and I wonder if I will ever watch any more episodes since the winter hiatus, knowing what is to come. Truth be told, the reason I haven't watched, is because Java got sick after the new year, before Castle came back from winter break. I have been holding out to watch with him, when he is better. At this point, when he is able to comprehend what has happened to our beloved show, it remains to be seen if he will want to continue watching. I"m going to follow his lead. If he wants to watch, I will watch. If not... the road has already ended for me and my beloved show. And I have no idea when I will hear from him. And that is the worst pain of all. He must not be well enough to get to his phone yet, and with each passing day it gets harder and harder to wait. I will not be looking at any more photos. The one I saw on facebook is the one where they are face to face, Castle is looking down, and Kate's eyes are closed while she holds his cheeks in her hands. All kinds of emotion bubbles up, especially with my buddy still being so sick, so I cannot. I cannot watch, or look at anything. My heart cannot take the pain. So there I am, being candid. And yes, maybe even a little passionate. Thank you, kman, for your thoughts. I appreciate them quite sincerely. |

As I've already said, I am not interested in watching the show Castle without Stana...and have VERY LITTLE hope that anything good may come of this season. There might have been a slim possibility that I could wish those who go along with the spinoff well, if ABC/showrunners, or whoever the hell is calling the shots here, had had the decency to give this great show the ending it deserved....BUT NO. And I know there are those who say get over it, it's JUST a TV show....but there are lots of "just a TV show" out there....Castle was not just another TV show....it was an incredible TV show....
I know we'll get through this and find a way forward, but it sure ain't fun right now.

I feel like TPTB let me down for every major event on the show. I hated the proposal. I will never forgive them for yanking the wedding out from under us. I was disappointed in the actual wedding in which Beckett's father wasn't allowed to speak and none of their friends were there and the green screen was terrible. I really hated the honeymoon as well. I didn't have a lot of hope for the end of the show but I would have been satisfied if it had ended with last year's season finale. I guess nothing that has happened has surprised me that much.

Since for me Beckett was the reason I watched, I decided to stop watching already. I watched the last episode cuz I knew it would be the last round table I'd get to do, but haven't watched the two before. I won't be tuning in next year!
