1. I believe it was a cold case from Rick's prep school days. Damian's father. He paid a guy to kill him.
2. She learned about his prep school days and that Damian had encouraged him to write. She also learned how devoted he was to his friends and people he cared about.
3. Kate is going to buy him a drink before she has to go out with Josh for Valentines day.
