I was just watching the season 7 two parter tonight on TNT. Reckoning is an amazing episode. This was one of the best Andrew / Rob episodes. The tension is unbelievable.
Here is the list: Season 2 Tick, Tick, Tick and Boom!
Season 3 Setup and Countdown (my only fanfic story was taken from a missed scene in Countdown)
Season 4 Pandora and Linchpin
Season 5 Target and Hunt
Season 6 Valkyrie and Dreamworld
Season 7 Drive and Montreal Resurrection and Reckconing ( we really got two 2 partners this season)
Season 8 XY and XX
I have to say I enjoyed the mid-season 2 parters much better than the last 3 season openers. I remember they had originally schedulted Tick, Tick, Tick and Boom! to air back to back on Sunday and Monday but then it was changed at the last minute. We had to wait a week to find out if Beckett lived thru the bomb. There were so many Caskett scenes in these two episodes. I loved it! My next favorite would have to be meeting Daddy Castle finally in Hunt. James Brolin was the perfect Dad. The music and scenes they had together were wonderful.

I agree tycho. I also enjoyed Tick, tick and Boom. The interaction between Castle, Kate and Shaw were great and humorous.

The two-parters I enjoy most are Target/Hunt, the one with the freezer scene, and season 7 when they get Tyson.

My favorite two parter I enjoy and will always enjoy the most (since it has now gone downhill) is Tick, Tick, Tick, and Boom, followed by Setup and Countdown. Funny, I never thought of Drive and Montreal as a two-parter, only that it went a bit into Castle's disappearance. I always thought of Resurrection and Reckoning as the two-parter since it continued with 3XK and Nieman, so I count that one as my next favorite.

For me, the faves are Target and Hunt. The number of emotional scenes that brought me to tears was off the charts!

When I started this thread I was watching the 3XK 2 parter. It just blew me away. Rob Bowman can get a 2 hr movie somehow into 42 minutes. Chad Creasey is finishing up his episode 815 with Rob Bowman directing. Chad and Stana have been tweeting about how amazing Rob's directing is on this episode. I am so looking forward to this episode after reading their tweets.

For me it is Resurrection and Reckoning. The scenes between Castle and Tyson just blew me away but the best was that Castle and Beckett went home together and got to hold one another after it was all done. I'd waited 7 seasons to see that.
I loved Tick, Tick, Tick... but Boom! just didn't hold the intensity for me. We left off on this really dramatic cliffhanger and then Boom! opened making the scene comical and that really bothered me.
Also, I enjoyed Setup and Countdown but Josh returning took an exceptional two-parter and brought it down a peg, at least in my opinion.

I still love season two's "Tick, Tick, Tick" and "Boom"....We begin to see just how close these two are...our thoughts are echoed by Jordan Shaw to Kate ( How long how have you two been sleeping together?....He cares about you Kate...you may not want to see it....etc) .....Kate's jealousy as Rick clicks with Shaw....A Novel that defines the Beckett Character in the eyes of a serial killer...it links Beckett to Heat in ways neither Rick or Kate thought possible....Rick not even thinking, just reacting as the women he loves is about to get blown up....and Kate begins to understand that this so much more than friendship between the two. She knows how complicated this is, but now she understands that she must either break free or accept it. And in the end, she lets the bad guy know that she, in fact, is Det. Kate Beckett and not Nikki Heat....she knows who she is and now she knows how deep this relationship goes....Rick would kill for her....and what a shot he is!!!!! LOL Aiming for the Head?....PLEASE, GIVE ME A BREAK.

Tick,Tick,Tick/Boom was my favorite until Target/Hunt. As much as I loved Resurrection/Reckoning, I think Target/Hunt is still my favorite. Second place is a tie between the other two.
