I love photos of bodega cats and thought I'd share some, but a friend recently asked me what a bodega is and I realized that other parts of the country may not have them, or use that term for them. Bodegas (hispanic origin) are like small convenience stores. Some have a deli counter, some sell beer, some have hot food, or none of the above. Many in NYC are open 24/7 so if you're doing laundry at 4am and run out of detergent while craving a frozen burrito, you can head to your local bodega. My brother-in-law in Brooklyn has his favorite polish bodega around the corner that has specialty pickles. They're all a bit different yet when you walk into a bodega, you know what it is. The one thing many of them have is a bodega cat. A cat who lives at the bodega. I'm assuming they're there to keep the rodents in check but most customers enjoy them and take the occasional photo.

I've always said that I only like leopard print on a leopard. Lately, for some unknown reason, leopards seem to be popping up around me. No, not real leopards but pictures/videos of them seem to be showing up in odd places and so often that I've begun to notice. They've even showed up in my dreams twice in the last couple of weeks. In honor of this coincidence, here's video of a mother leopard and her cub...

Groundhogs have such attitude. This one is taunting the dogs with his pizza.

The pure joy of these sea lions when they hit the ocean water makes me smile...

What is the story with the sea lions? Were they captive and being released? They looked like they recognized the ocean and were happy to return. I love to see free animals returning home.

tycho657, I don't know their full story. The video shows them when the marine center rescued them but it doesn't say the circumstances. I'm assumed they came from the wild and got themselves into some sort of trouble, had to be rehabed and then were released but that's just a guess on my part.
