I just saw this on CastkeTv.net She does not post things that are not vetted information. She is asking people to go on the ABC site and request that they sign the other cast members. I am thinking that Seamus and Jon have not been offered contracts? Or maybe even Susan, Molly, & Tamala? Here is the link. Just be positive in your request. I am going to play the devil advocate, be the blacksheep of this here board after posting this. I hope not. But, I have to ask. Why is castletv.net the only one running with this story. I haven't seen this on any other media site. Either it be THR, TV Line ect. I was happy about a season 8, I was over joyed, then news...that Stana haven't renewed her contract came out. Now we have that ABC is planning to recast the characters. It hasn't been substantiated, so until it is I would apply this as rumors. I am deeply surprised that Castletv.net would post this when and if someone else would have done this, she or they would have not allowed for it to be posted. To me, it feels like one big publicity stunt by ABC. Its bad enough that they don't, won't, or down and out refuse to promote Castle like they do Shonda Rhimes' shows. This whole renewal thing has a familiar theme to it. Will Stana renew her contract? Will the whole cast be recast or will they return whole and intact? Tune in Tuesday at the same Bat time and the same Bat channel  |

People go crazy. Castle TV I believe was talking from a personal connection to one of the actors in a supporting role who really wants to sign. It sounded like they were offering a weak contract and had told him they could recast that character if he chose to not sign.
This is all out of our control so not worth going crazy. I think the fandom spoke loud and clear today that they enjoy this cast and hope for more from them. I'm not going to worry. What will be will be.

The guy at TV Wise was adamant that it is not true that ABC is looking to cast new actors. He said his ABC source laughed when asked if ABC is looking for new cast members.
Here is the thing though. We have to assume that Nathsn and Stana are getting a nice raise. Revenue is not increasing for the show. Something has to give. The supporting cast may not get the raises they desire. And, as much as I hate to say it, that may lead to someone taking a pass.
We shall see.

Also, I highly doubt that a role would be recast. Much more likely they would create a new character with a new actor.

I'm only guessing here, but wouldn't Molly's contract have already been re-negotiated when she turned 18?
She started on the show as a minor.

She would have had to sign a new one since her parents could not longer legally sign contracts on her behalf.

Perhaps Castle TV does not mean to use the word recast. It seems to me that there is close to zero chance a role would be recast. Replacing a character, on the other hand, is certainly a possibility. And, maybe that's what Castle TV meant. |

I think no matter what it doesn't hurt to let ABC know how much we love this show and the actors in it. For all the entertainment they give us it really the least we can do. I know this show was one of the few things I looked forward to for about two years of my life. It was another reason to make it through the week. It gave me a sense of hope. So clicking on a link and letting ABC know how much I appreciate them renewing and how much I love the cast was no big deal. I wish I could actually tell them that Castle the show was sort of my Storm books to Beckett.

Apparently, A press release from ABC lists the whole cast for Season 8. Also shows Rob Bowman still an EP. Don't know if legit or not.
