Castle had the 9th largest demo increase going from 1.1 to 1.9 (interestingly the .8 increase is one of Castle's lowest of he year - I guess not a big DVR week). Castle had he 5th largest viewer increase from 6.655 million to 10.066 million. Castle continues to have basically the exact same live and DVR numbers every week.

Interesting, but will the DVR numbers be enough to save the show?? Two years ago, defnitely not. Now, probably not. Advertisers don't pay based on DVR numbers (though apparently the key measure is something called C+3 which is the show is watched within three days and commercials are not skipped. These numbers are not made available except to the networks, but supposedly are close to the L+same day numbers). There red are so many variables for Castle's renewal including ratings relative to other ABC shows, cost to produce, will Nathan and Stana sign. Just to early to say. One thing I'd like to add is I don't think the show runners are an issue at all. The ratings this year were down starting from episode one and have not dropped at all since. Viewers were lost between season 7 and 8, not because of this year's storyline.
