What a sweet episode this week featuring Ducky! i'm really enjoying the focus on family-related theme....I'm even enjoying Tony!!! The episode where V ance partnered with Gibbs was a hoot (that was back in October)

I'm just watching this episode now. I love Ducky so I'm loving this episode.
I just laughed out loud when Tony asked, “You rent him the rope too?”
Will check back in when I finish.

The whole cast just seems to be hitting it off....loved th opening scene with Tony and Tim and their conversation being deflected to Bishop.because of the skylight....and the howler monkey bit

Yes, I'm really enjoying this season. It's wonderful to see a show be so strong in season 13.
That opening scene was great. Tony has always been my favorite.
I hate that Jake went from being a good guy to such a jerk. He and Bishop had their issues when she changed jobs but all marriages hit rough patches. They could have worked through it if not for the affair. And I agree with her in that I think he admitted to it because he wanted her to make the tough call.
That a younger Ducky was willing to resign his commission to raise his much younger half-brother just solidified why I like him so much. Their separation of decades was simply heartbreaking but I loved their reunion at the end. It held a special place for me since my grandfather had Alzheimer's and my grandmother suffered from dementia the last few months of her life. The victims of those diseases won't remember what happened yesterday but may still remember details from their childhoods so the fact that Nicholas remembered the train, the stamps, and Ducky felt real for me.
Overall, a wonderful episode to leave on before the holiday break.

My mom, too, has mild to moderate dementia so you look for the bright spots and small things that still give her, and us, joy and the memories that might still be there from the past, although she will still surprise us and remember something from the recent past better than we have...you just never know . I have been known to try to give MY recollection of the recent past, thinking she didn't have it quite right, only to realize upon further thought later on that she was INDEED correct...heh...so much for Ms. Smartypants!

AWW...what a great Valentine ep!! really interesting investigation, too Yes! I really enjoyed this episode. I liked the twist that they couldn't get to the body and Ducky had the three divers do a preliminary autopsy. There were certain things that made me laugh...in a good way. The woman who was having an affair but swore her marriage was sacred because she was Catholic and she'd never get a divorce. LOL! I think someone missed the point of those vows. Gibbs looked really cute when he was eating the cherry jello. (My late grandmother ALWAYS had little bowls of cherry jello in her fridge when I was a kid, so that made me smile.) I also really liked the way Tony and Bishop both handled Valentine's Day. Once again, it all had a real family feel to it. Oh, and Maya Stojan (formerly Tori on Castle) was the killer!

Loving the show as well. I think it was last season where Gibbs made a reference to Ducky looking like "Illya Kuryakin". What a hoot. Ducky is such a great character. He is quietly the one who they all rally around. It will be interesting to see how they phase Tony D out. But this show is very strong. Very tight and very well written. It will go on for as long as they want it to.

Yes they gave Tony a good reason to leave and take care of his daughter. They also left open a place for Tony to return in 10 years when the show has its final episode. I am surprised that Michael is jumping right into another hour long TV show. You would think he would want a year to just relax. His new show was picked up as we saw in the promo for the show right after the closing credits for NCIS.

Now that would be an accomplishment, wouldn't it? 20 years...woo hoo I didn't see the promo, but had read about the new show for Michael, not quite sure how I feel about the description but might take a peek just to see. I'm hoping Sarah Clarke (FBI Special Agent Tess Monroe) comes back next season....I loved her on Bosch (she was his ex-wife) and I really like her personality on NCIS.... And I absolutely LOVE the Gibbs's psych doctor!!!!! She cracks me up and gives it back to Gibbs in spades!!!!!!

(SPOILER ALERT if you haven't seen the NCIS season finale. Stop reading now!) Oh, I loved this season finale. I know some fans won't be happy that Ziva was killed. I liked Ziva but I'm okay with the way they handled it. Tony needed closure and Ziva chose not to be with him. I dislike that she chose not to tell Tony about their child. That she thought he wouldn't be happy was silly. If she simply didn't want to give up her independence, then that's selfish. But Ziva was flawed so I can't say that either of those things would be completely out of character for her. The little girl (girls...they were twins) could not have been more adorable and Michael Weatherly was great with her. I love that Tony decided it was time to change his life because he was Tali's everything. I think it was in context with his character development and his struggles throughout the series. I also loved how his father stepped up and was his rock when he was falling apart. Tony was my favorite character on the show and I'll miss him. I'll be interested in seeing where they take things next season. So far, NCIS has been the one season finale this May that truly made me smile.

Yes it was well done and they left room for Tony to come back when they end the series.
