I seen both SP I have to say I can't wait until Monday. I don't really think Rita is Castle Step-Mother. I think its one of Hunt's contingency plan for if he can't come to protect his family that he would send someone he could trust to do it. Using the step-mother is a sure fire way to gain someone trust plus, it alleviate Rita having to tell Becket what agency she is working for. Ya know, my first reaction to that sneak was the same.....Ms Rita really isn't his stepmother. Insinuating the she is somehow connected to Castle in any way is a sure bet to get Beckett's attention and spy daddy would of course know that. Regardless, it's gonna be an interesting episode. |

Rita - hmm. Wonder who she really is.
Ok, so I am getting very paranoid because of the various comments that I have been reading (still on S7) about S8. I would like to know if I've missed an article that states absolutely that Rick & Kate will not be separating on a personal level. My take on that first sneak peak - like it! That Rick & Kate are actually having the kind of serious conversion that many have said has been missing. So that sneak says no more secrets or lies, but Rick didn't answer Kate when he says that he has seen that behaviour before. Will he tell her that he saw Bracken who now has him wondering what Kate is chasing? Bracken messing with Rick because he cannot get the better of Kate. Paranoid is whether Nathan & Stana are hugging each other because you don't see their faces. I'm also wondering at the sequence of events. Obviously Kate is wearing what we saw in the photos that were released when they are in the hangar and the boys seem to be congratulating her at the precinct. Now for me if it is the worse case scenario - they separate - I view it as follows. We have the sneak peak scene, Kate is greeted by the boys and then we get the hangar scene which means that Kate went off without telling Rick which is why she seems surprised to see him there. They kiss and Rick tells her that he loves her but can't/won't live with secrets anymore and walks away.
I would also like to say that Bracken telling Kate she stumbled on something makes sense to me. It could have been an investigation that turned up something that lead to something else. Bracken may be behind bars but that doesn't mean that he wouldn't have access to information or events.

I also don't think his Dad is married, but I read somewhere that this character has a connection to Castle. Hopefully we'll find out more!

1Lincoln40 I don't have the interview links handy but the show runners have said more than once that they consider the love story between Castle and Beckett the heart of the show and that they have no intention of messing with that. I expect Rick and Kate will face some obstacles but I think the goal is to have them work through them together.
