How is everyone doing? The sun is shining here and it's 73 degrees! I'm enjoying the heck out of it but it looks like we drop back down into the 50s by the end of the week and I'd guess things will steadily drop from there.
Our Covid numbers are really spiking. We've had 23 more cases in my small town in the last nine days. We've never had a jump like that, not even in the spring. The only upside (if you can call it that) is that the death rates aren't rising as quickly as they once were. I just have to believe that if we can continue to be careful, and with a possible vaccine and a better national plan, that we'll see things start to get better next spring/summer. Fingers crossed.
In other news, I'm working on a new website. It's pet related and I'm hoping to show it to you here sometime this week.
So how is everyone else doing this week?

And here are my family's new masks for this month. Kate got Snoopy, I've got Princess Leia, but my husband is sticking with his Mac & Cheese smile mask.

Cases are continuing to rise in AZ. We're up to 259,699 and 6,164 deaths. Hospitalizations are also on the rise. There is just no end in sight. I'm thinking if people continue wearing masks and social distancing, the flu season may not be as severe as predicted. We've already had fewer cases to date compared to previous years. Let's hope this trend continues.
Summer is definitely over here now. It was only 60 today and lows in the high 40s overnight. Time for long pants and sweaters! Snowfall is expected in the mountains. There may be some on the Four Peaks, the mountains seen in the distance in tycho's kayak picture on the Salt River.
What a relief the election is over, although we're still counting ballots. There were around 70,000 more and will hopefully be finished today or tomorrow. I don't think the lead will change hands. If that's the case, our governor can expect nasty tweets from a certain 'disgruntled' voter. At least the campaign ads and mailers have all stopped.

Well, the day started off with a phone call from the school at 7am asking that my daughter stay home and do virtual classes today as she may have been exposed to someone who has Covid, and they'll call me this afternoon with more information.
My father was mountain biking and took a fall on Sunday (He didn't tell me about it until yesterday.) I'm worried he may have fractured a rib because he's obviously in pain and has a strange cough. After insisting he was fine since yesterday, I've finally convinced him to go see his doctor this afternoon. Right now, I'm taking that as a win.
And did I mention my Mom is having surgery on Thursday.
This feels like an exhausting week and it's only Tuesday!

Wow...you have all anyone should ever have to face all at once. Spreading them out would not make them easier; however, it certainly would regulate this peak in the worry and concern. I'm hoping that everything resolves themselves quickly with satisfactory results.

We started the morning with ice pellets covering the deck and now have 4-6 inches of snow on the way this afternoon and evening! Good grief! We're not even close to the actual start of winter and we'll already have had well over a foot of snow.

My Dad's rib is badly bruised but not broken, thank goodness. But they are sending him for a Covid test right now...
And I haven't heard anything back from the school.

I thought I would finally feel some relief this week after the election. Instead I see that many of you are dealing with this new surge of covid. They told us it was going to get worse if people didn’t start wearing masks...well the scientist and doctors were right. Know that each of you are in my prayers. Stay safe, stay well. I am camping again this week. It has finally started feeling like fall/ winter here in Arizona. There was lots of wind and blowing dust last Sat when most of my group drove down. They even shut down I-10 in spots. I was glad I was feeding kitties on Sat and drive down on Sun. Some wind but no dust storms. Kitties have been snuggling up at night😻

Glad for your Dad, Christine. Hope your daughter stays well too. My granddaughter is getting better very slowly from Covid I am happy to say. WISCONSIN- 293,862 cases 2,497 deaths Brown County - 18,667 cases 117 deaths Obviously, things are not good in my state. We used to be way behind AZ in cases but look at us now. We set new record high cases almost every day. Not good. We are staying in a lot and basically just going out for groceries. My SIL is going to cook the whole Thanksgiving day meal and will bring us a "Care Package". Our family is not getting together. Better safe than sorry. Gkids are still going to school. Most every other school district in GB is closed. SIL has to go in to work also, so being exposed like kids. Watching lots of Netflix and Acorn, reading, puzzles, and crafts to keep us from going stir crazy. Went for a ride last Sunday and got our supper at Arby's Drive Thru. A MAJOR TREAT, LOL Stay Safe and Best to All

The numbers in NJ are rising. It's not as bad as it was in the spring, but it is steadily climbing and my friend, a nurse, just went on a rant about the lack of education concerning Covid and some primary care doctors.
A friend of hers, a 40-year-old, healthy woman, tested positive. Her doctor simply told her to go home and if she had more symptoms to go to the ER. Also, that she could go back to work after 10 days.
Apparently none of that was correct. First, she said the doctor should have put her on increased vitamins D and C to help boost her immune system. Her friend was having difficulty breathing but was never told that she should be laying on her stomach and not her back to help increase her oxygen intake. Also, her doctor could have prescribed steroids once she began having breathing issues to try and reduce those symptoms.
Instead, her doctor just told her to go to the ER if symptoms progressed, which will only add to the problem of hospital resources being stretched thin.
My friend also says that she should only go back to work after ten days of being symptom free, and getting another test, two things the doctor never mentioned.
Also, I'm still waiting to get more information from my daughter's school or our local health department. I had to call them and all they would say was they are waiting for more information.
Here's to hoping that tomorrow brings some good news.

My husband's office has become a hot spot. They sent everyone home Friday morning. We had family pictures taken outdoors Saturday. I can't wait to see them. Anyway, my husband started coughing Saturday morning. By Sunday evening he didn't have taste or smell. Sunday evening I started coughing. I took my temp and it was 99+. Monday it was 102, but my husband never had a fever. We got tested. Tuesday hubby test was positive but I didn't get any results until this morning and it said I was negative. I'm going to get tested again. I just assumed I also had Covid so I haven't tried to stay away from husband at all. I still have taste and smell but still have fever around 100. It's confusing.

ibmjas, I don't even know what to say. Please take care of yourself and your family. I hope you recover soon. It has been a a week of ups and downs for me. I’m grateful my Dad’s rib was only bruised, and my Mom’s surgery went well. We also just got word that my daughter was NOT exposed to Covid. And it looks like we're going to officially call off Thanksgiving. We usually spend it with my in-laws, but there's just no way to do that safely this year. So we’re looking forward to a quiet weekend and then gearing up for another week of 2020.

My 2nd test came back positive. It really ticks me off. No one I know has been more careful than me, but of course I'm always around my husband. They are good about wearing masks at his work and sending everyone home when someone tests positive but somehow quite a few were exposed before it was caught. It's been a week now. We're doing OK but obviously not back to normal. We were told that we could leave quarantine after 10 days from onset of symptoms or when we've been fever free for 24 hours. Tuesday will be 10 days for me but I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever be fever free. We just found out hubby's boss had to go to the hospital today with pneumonia. It was his 10th day from onset. We're just hoping we don't take that turn! Appreciate your good wishes.
