For those of us in the United States, today is Memorial Day, where we honor the military personnel who have died while serving in our Armed Forces. Although I know several people who have served, including my Dad (Navy), I've been lucky not to personally lose anyone but many haven't been as lucky. I hope you are all enjoying your day and remembering those who paid for our freedom with their lives.

I played Taps today at 3:00 for the neighborhood. There is an organization that was started a couple of years back called “Taps for Veterans “ that asked people to play taps somewhere on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. I posted on the Nextdoor app so the neighbors could come outside and listen if they wanted. Well the NBC station from Phoenix showed up and filmed me. He also interviewed me. He said it would be on at 6 or 10 tonight. I really didn’t want to be on the news but it is for a good cause.

Teresa, my husband and I will be watching and I'm sure you did a good job! My dad was a World War II veteran and I'm thankful he survived, unlike so many of our soldiers.
