I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. I'm one of the lucky ones as my daughter is right here with me. Our local ice cream shop is open so we were able to continue our tradition of her treating me to a banana split, which we shared. This year we had to bring it home instead of eating it there but it was still very tasty. I also received flowers and some of her fantastic artwork.
Then we did a Zoom video visit with my mother and my sister which was fun, especially with my 3-year-old niece showing us all of her drawings.
This afternoon we had planned to drop off take-out to my mother-in-law but EVERYTHING went wrong. We waited in a drive-up line for 45 minutes only to learn that the place didn't have our order (although they had charged us for it) and then ran out of what we wanted. We tried two other restaurants in the area but they had both stopped taking orders for the day.
In the end, we called my mother-in-law and apologized and promised to bring her Mother's Day meal tomorrow. Hopefully it will be a lot easier!
