Another oldie we just saw again was West Side Story. I always loved it, but my husband wasn't too interested.
A newer movie we watched again was Cinderella Man. This is such a great movie based on true events. I think every high school kid should have to watch this to see what real integrity is and to understand a little about the Great Depression.

We watched the original Star Wars: A New Hope last night. My daughter hadn't seen it in almost three years so she didn't remember a lot (which I consider a parenting fail).
One of my most vivid memories was seeing this movie for the first time in a drive-in at six-years-old. I'll always love the original Star Wars trilogy.

(Spoiler alert if you haven’t seen these) Not a movie but I watched the new Picard series of Star Trek. I also am watching Star Trek Discovery. I have to say I really didn’t like Captain Lorca. I was glad to have the reveal and have him gone. This is supposed to be 10 years before the original Star Trek but the ships and technology are superior to what we saw on the original series. They have also taken liberties with Spocks family? I really like Captain Pike. They have tried to add a few clips from the original series into this but it is strange? I am almost through season 2. I will watch as much as I can before my free month is up. You can get a free month right now.
Anyone else watching this series?

We watched The Empire Strikes Back. It was Kate's first time viewing it (and I consider it a parenting fail that she hasn't seen the entire original Star Wars trilogy by now). When it ended she was upset that we were making her wait until next weekend to watch Return of the Jedi.
I told her that when I was a kid I had to wait 3 YEARS to find out what happened to Han Solo. THREE YEARS! I was 9 and didn't find out what happened until I was 12!
She looked at me like I was crazy. Kids today have no idea...

Rocketman - This movie was about Elton John and much better than we thought it would be Yes, I enjoyed that too. I watched that on a plane last summer. I've always generally liked Elton John but never considered myself a huge fan. After watching the movie I had a much better appreciation for his life and his music.

Hi everyone – sorry if this was already posted but I couldn’t see it. Movies that I have recently watched: Transformers: The Last Knight - Better than I thought it would be but then I’m a sucker for anything on the Arthurian Legend. The lead actress looked like a Megan Fox clone. My Cousin Rachel – I will not be watching that story again. I didn’t realise that it was a story by Daphne Du Maurier. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 – So happy I didn’t pay money to go and see this. I don’t know if I don’t like Chris Pratt or the character that he plays but I found him annoying. However, I loved Rocket and baby Groot dancing to Mr Blue Sky by ELO was cuteness overload! Although there are fans who will say that nothing beats baby Yoda for cuteness. The V.I.P’s – It took me a couple of days to find my VHS copy. I had totally forgotten what a fine looking man Richard Burton was especially when he smiled. As for that voice…. Also a great cast. Thunder in the East – I have yet to complete this movie. I had never heard of it but decided to check it out because it starred Alan Ladd and Deborah Kerr. The Great Lie – My favorite Bette Davis movie, hope to watch it sometime soon. Monsters vs Aliens - also watching for me to watch. But for this virus, I should have watched on the big screen: Onward – A weird Disney Bloodshot Black Widow Woman in the Window B

Yes 1Lincoln40, we had movies we were looking forward to seeing too. Wonder Woman 2, Black Widow, and my daughter couldn't wait to take me to see Mulan for my birthday but that was the week that the theaters closed. Hopefully, we'll get to movie theaters safely sometime in the near future. We watched Return of the Jedi last week. My daughter loved the Ewoks but hated Jabba the Hut because he was too gross. The only upside was when Princess Leia killled him. We also watched a documentary, Lobster Wars. Apparently there is a border dispute between the U.S. state of Maine and Canada that has been going on since the Revolutionary War. Both countries claim to own this little island and the water around it is known as the gray zone and are full of lobster. While a lot of the movie was about how both sides think they are in the right and the other side is wrong, what struck me was how climate change has affected the lobster. You used to be able to catch lobster in the waters near New York state, Connecticut, Massachusets, etc., but lobsters like cold temperatures and the water temps have been steadily rising. You can no longer find lobster in the Southern New England area. The entire lobster industry is no centered in Maine. The biggest problem, the lobsters are moving northward by about 4 miles per year! I can't imagine it will be that many years before "Maine lobsters" become "Canadian lobsters."
