So, I'll give it a go. I was one of the 2 newbies in St. Louis and let me say that I was nervous on the drive up but as soon as castlekat started banging on my room door, followed by the biggest bear hug ever, that all flew the coop (mostly). LOL Anyway, a great time was had by all and I was very fortunate to be able to attend. As castlekat has already said, it was a weekend filled with laughter, tears, fun, shenanigans, car trouble, and food. Heavens at the food. We were even treated to a smorelette, which in all honesty was quite good. Not everyone liked it but I sure did. There were pedis/manis, a porta-potty adventure, frozen custard, lots of "all y'all's" and what will forever be known as the "Many Adventures of the Water Bottles". Someone even remarked later that that pack of water traveled more in 3 days than the rest of us did ......inside, outside, car to car back to car, upstairs, downstairs. Needless to say, you will not go thirsty if you travel with castlekat. <snort> I've come to realize after the weekend that I love mold. You're missin' me & my water now. Aren't ya? Yes I am!!!

Thanks for getting this thread started castlekat! I've been to all but one of the gatherings over the past 4 years and they are truly one of the highlights of my year. We started out as Castle fans and are now the best of friends first and Castle fans second. The St. Louis gathering was absolutely incredible, thanks largely to our hostess with the mostest! Have we mentioned the incredible food? ? In honor of the show, we not only had a s'morelette, but also pasta carbonara, happy face pancakes, ice cream and cherries! She also had a HUGE TV that made it seem like the Castle cast was right there in the room with us. I MIGHT have done an inordinate amount of swooning over you-know-who! I made up a new Castle game I call Persons of Interest and we played that a couple of times. My, but we have some competitive members! One of the days we decided to see some of the sights in St. Louis and got barbecue from well known Pappy's. We took it to a huge park and had ourselves a picnic. Then we visited the famous Ted Drew's frozen custard place on old route 66. Talk about being in hog heaven! It doesn't get much better than barbecue ribs and ice cream in my book! Unfortunately, that's also when we discovered that I'd lost a chunk out of one of my tires on the trip down so we ended up cutting our afternoon short and taking my car in for new tires. Everyone was so understanding and helpful in getting that done. Gotta keep the Bobbie Bus on the road! It was tough to say goodbye but we all agree that these gatherings will continue regardless of what happens with the show. This year was so enriched by our 2 new attendees and we'd love to meet more members. Castle peeps are GODD FOLK! The Bobbie Bus will go down in history! That baby is a Castle icon to some of us! LoL! Bobbie is right.... Castle folks are amazing. And with every new person I meet, they bring me new joy. I've been with Bobbie, what, five times now, along with a few others.... One of the fun parts is that we're all different ages. Early 30's on up. I'm to the point where I become a blubbering idiot, as the tears just keep coming when it's time to say good-bye. I love these people. And it's definitely a priority in my life to meet them every year. They are my sisters and the most perfect serendipity. Who knew?

And okay. Need to share this. I had my first pedicure this weekend. I will let anyone else who feels the need to expound on that do so. It was a big moment for me. heh heh heh.... #Ifeelpretty And all we heard about for the rest of the weekend...."I don't want to ruin my new pedi" I'm still sayin' that. I wear my flip flops guardedly. lol.... And I still feel pretty.

*cough*port-a-potty*cough* Waahahahahahaha! We were geared up with a Bounty paper towel, a Wet-Wipe and our resolve! We all get in there, there were a few of us, and we all start having a conversation! The FREAKING ROW of port-a-potties was carrying on a conversation while we did our business! It was HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As it was, that was not a bad experience. Toilet paper, no smell, and hand-sanitizer outside the row of those gems. We had our wet wipes, our humor and we lived to tell! It really is the little things, no??? lol................... Oh My gosh! And if you recall, I was impressed that there was a hook for my purse in there! LOL! OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *dying laughing*

I'm echoing what Castlekat said about our diversity. It never ceases to amaze me that we can have people whose ages span 40 years and who come from all parts of the country and do all kinds of jobs, and it feels like family. Every time we gather I find myself wanting to be sure to get some one on one time with each person because they're all so special and it's fascinating to hear what's going on in everyone's lives. Castlekat speaks the truth when she says that she has a difficult time saying goodbye. It gets ugly even before the actual parting. Trust me, I've seen the "Ugly Cry Selfie!!!"

I think some of my favorite moments of these meets are when we all settle in with our snacks & comfy selves to watch an epidose, or two, or three of Castle. Because in those moments, the spontaneous conversations errupt. And it could be anything from one sentence/word/comment, to evolving into a full blown conversation where we either need to pause, or re-start the episode! LoL!
