What was your nickname? If you had one from friends and another from family, post both. Age doesn’t matter. If this makes you uncomfortable, DON’T DO IT.
“Caveman.” This came from my cousin/best friend and I think he started it in my early teens. Only he called me that in public. I was very smart logically but not very sociable and not very good at doing simple things. What things I cannot recall.
Edit: I think it may have been about the way I dressed.

My dad called me "Punkin'" when I was little. He was a great one for nicknames, I think he used well over 10 nicknames for my son from infancy through to teenage years.

Java, you definitely moved beyond the Caveman dressing ....I remember how much fun we all had reading your fashion advice!!!!!!

I was 'Holmely' and my brother was 'Holmely Junior' from grade school through college. We even heard it a few times several years ago when we attended my 50th and Jack's 48th combined-graduating-years high school reunion.

My brothers and sisters all call me "Lou" which is my middle name (Mary Lou). My sister, Katie, called me "Oodie" when she was little. I've also been called Myrtle by the same sister.

The only time I ever had a nickname was in junior high. Other students started calling me “Space” because I was always daydreaming in class. I would get bored and then I’d start imagining stories in my head. They were quite elaborate at times, but I never wrote them down. Now I can see that what got me into trouble back then, helps me as a writer now.

My name as a summer camp counselor was "Miss Noah". (My last name at that time was Moses.) One day one of the other counselors yelled across to me calling me "Moses". One of the campers came up to her and said "Miss Les, you have the right book but the wrong name".
