I've seen them do it with the car on a trailer or flatbed so the car isn't actually on the road. I've also seem them do it in the studio with a fake car in front of a green screen. Both are very convincing.

This is LA, land of the sun. What’s with the constant umbrella keeping the sun off of Nathan? I never saw this when they were filming Castle on the streets of LA. I've seen this on a few TV sets. Years back, I spent an entire day on the set of the USA network show White Collar. I spent much of the day watching them film and waiting for when they had the time to be interviewed. Half of the day was spent filming on the roof of a parking deck in Queens. It didn't seem that hot to me, but Matt Bomer (the lead actor) always had a sun umbrella. Either he held it or someone else held it for him. He even shared his umbrella with me when we spoke, which I thought was very kind. Although I first thought the sun umbrella was a little over the top, I realized how crucial it could be when I got home and saw that I had quite a sunburn. I was bright red all along my v-neckline. I never thought it was that warm, but the sun definitely left its mark! There is also the fact that unlike real cops, actors aren't used to wearing black (or is it navy blue?) Uniforms all day in bright sunshine. |
