"Live from The Met' is on PBS every Saturday. It is great to accompany my baking time. Not sure what is scheduled this week at The Met; however, it is time for Rhubarb-strawberry Crumble.

My favorite version of Nessun Dorma. The SACD for this cranked on a stereo is stunning.

Hi everyone!
I feel I have to say that if anyone was to tell me the title of a classical piece they would be met with a blank look from me, but if I heard the music I might recognize it. If anything that I post is considered sacrilege, or a travesty, or just too long, I hope that someone will delete it.
Java you posted two of my favorites pieces but I could never decide if I preferred John Williams playing concerto de aranjuez or a guy called Hank Marvin from the Shadows a sixties backing group that came into their own. The Paganini I immediately think of Somewhere In Time with Christopher Reeve, Jane Seymour and Christopher Plummer.
As for what I believe is my favorite classic piece, that is easily this one.
This just gets me going and next time this movie is playing, I must make the effort to watch it.

And this is how I heard "classical" in my youth when records were still heard on vinyl discs.
Bach - Toccata - played by Sky.

B. I'm the same way! And thanks for posting "O Fortuna." I was thinking about it after I posted "In Trutina".

Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata
B. This is a great song that I avoid because I tend to play it only when I'm depress. 🙄

Thanks to everyone who liked my choices. Java the other thing I should say is that I am usually clueless about the meaning of the music, the story that the music is telling.
Another how I first heard Mussorgsky – night on bald mountain - on the Saturday Night Fever album
And then I saw the Disney, seriously creepy visuals which someone has merged.

And these ladies always look as if they are having the time of their lives performing. I believe not considered classical musicians in the same way that Shania Twain was not considered C&W.
Discovered Bond because of an ad and then went out and bought the single, then their album, then the dvd of their first performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

I'm usually clueless too! Thank you Google and YouTube (comments). I heard "Night On Bald Mountain" in music class in elementary school. A lot of my classical music came from that class or Bugs Bunny.
