We meet Paula, Castle's publisher agent who is from now on, especially in fanfic's, on Castle's case about getting chapters in for what ever book he is working on at the time. We find out in this episode that he might only write the one "Nikki Heat" book because he has an offer to write spy novels. 
Is this where we heard that he wanted to write after reading "Casino Royal" one of the James Bond books? That book was brought back in "Hunt" when Castle's Dad told him he is the one who handed him that book in the NY Public Library. At least someone was paying attention to these little tidbits they gave us in the early seasons.

I honestly can't remember if Castle specifically mentioned Casino Royal. I do know that he said the James Bond books are what made him want to become an author so either way the consistency was there when they revealed Hunt had given him Casino Royal.

I absolutely LOVED the ending of this episode with the dual phone calls interrupting their awkward attempt to say goodbye to each other. You could feel that neither one of them was happy about going their separate ways. What a fun way to save the partnership!
