One of my favorite parts of this episode was the interrogation of the guy who disputed the bird siting. The way he played Castle and Beckett along making it seem like he was the murderer was hysterical.

I just couldn't resist going back and watching this episode again! It's from season 3 and it's episode #8, Murder Most Fowl. There were some really great things in it! First of all, it was so cleverly written in that the murder led them to a kidnapping of a young boy and his rescue turned out to be the climax of the show. We never really identify the murderer - he's just referred to as a "thug" who'd been hired to murder Light Bulb Len and kidnap the boy. The B story in this one was Alexis babysitting for Ashley's pet rat, Theodore, and having him get out of his cage and get lost. Castle and Beckett were VERY in sync in this one! There were 2 or 3 times when they said the same thing at the same time and on one of the days, they're even dressed in similar pin strip jackets. There's a nice scene where Castle tells Beckett about the time he lost Alexis in a department store and how terrified he was. There was also one of those great physical comedy moments when Castle is hooked up to a parabolic microphone and Beckett says something right into it, making him just about jump out of his seat.
