Rick and Kate were so good in those early years. You could just see the respect and caring for each other building with almost every episode. I loved how he would push her buttons and get a response from her. 4 of my very favorite scenes: 1. Rick and Kate reading the letters and the looks on their faces when ILY's were quoted. Very precious indeed. 2. Martha, telling Rick that breaking her out of prison was true love. You could see Rick pondering her words. It was so well done. 3. Rick and Kate talking to the couple while they were in holding. I don't know if Kate would of done that before Rick came on the scene. Already, you can see the bond forming between them. 4. One of my all time favorite moments was when Kate said, "Don't worry Castle, I'd get you out." Up til that moment, I do not think Rick was sure if Kate liked him or was just tolerating him. I always felt that Rick was ahead of her in the caring department. When Kate said that, Rick was stunned and looked like he had just won a lottery. At that point, I'm not sure if Kate was even aware of what she had done. Game on!! An amazing scene IMO.

I'm sure disappointed that I missed the viewing party and I so wanted to discuss this great episode. So, not being one to keep my 2 cents to myself ........ here are some thoughts! - Remember when the openings used to be so intriguing and not violent, like in season 8? ?? - Espo brought Kate coffee at the crime scene! - I loved how Kate delighted in punking Castle about the Facial Recognition Data Base. - Loved all 4 of them teasing and building theory at the table. Where on earth did Castle ever get a 28 pound turkey? - That whole gown and glove thing in the morgue sure didn't last long - thankfully. - You could feel the sexual tension when Castle was reading over Kate's shoulder and I love that she stole his coffee! "Guess I just haven't met the right girl." - Castle wants the story, including the one of Kate's past, so he starts poking around. - Love that Kate already believes in Castle's insights enough to go to him. She must have thought she'd happened upon a freak show when they opened the door though! - "Scared you'll like it?" - EPIC conversation at the end! Kate leaves herself emotionally vulnerable with Castle by telling him about her mother. - I agree with what other have said about the music. We continued to get great scores from Rob Duncan but they sure backed off on using actual songs as the series went on. I sure hope to make the next viewing party!
