I just had to share this...
Today hasn’t been the best day. I found out I was losing one of my freelance writing jobs. It’s not the end of the world. These things happen but it’s about $300 a month I’ll lose, so it will hurt.
Then my husband took his car in for service. We expected it to cost $500. The estimate was $2,660!
So we were lamenting all of this when I say, “and it’s the last episode of Castle tonight. This just isn’t my day.”
My husband turns to me and says, “What, you’re not excited to see the conclusion of LokSat? What the hell is LokSat anyway? I’ve watched all season and I still have no clue? Is it a person, an organization, a satellite system? If the mechanic had just told me the LokSat on my car needed replacing I probably could have gotten more information than I’ve gotten from the show.”
I couldn’t stop laughing because it’s so darn true. It just proves that you can find humor (and joy) in damn near anything.

LoL! I love it! On this sentimental day, I have already experienced belly laughing to profound sadness to a crying hot mess. I feel especially emotional as this is the end of our show, and our buddy java is till not here. Such perceived loss...but I believe in "always" .... Thank your hubby for me, too. He certainly seems to get it, that this is a heavy-heart day. In many ways. Thanks for sharing, Christine!

What a sad day it is. For 8 years I have watched Castle every Monday that it was on and if it was a good episode, I would re-watch it. Sadly, I have not done that in season 8 and not too much in season 7 but it is still my favorite show and will remain so because I cannot imagine another show giving us what Castle did. We lived through Beckett finding herself and opening to the possibility of love, we lived through Castle finding his true love and helping her realize that it was him ALWAYS. We saw Molly grow up and though sometimes she disturbed us with her attitudes she was after all a teenage girl doing what they do best. Martha remained Martha for the full 8 years, a person to enjoy because of her worldly advice to her beloved family. The 12th became a home away from home, we enjoyed the time with our brothers/sons as they brought us many laughs and some tears through the years. Montgomery and Gates were missed when TPTB sent them on their way but never in a million years did I think they would do that to our Capt. Nothing lasts forever but this wonderful show should have gone out in a blaze of glory instead of going down in flames. I have all the DVS's and I will continue to watch them and remember what was not what is.

Yes, what is LocSat? Will we still be wondering tomorrow? Maybe they will wait until October when the next, and maybe last, Nikki Heat book is released to give us the answer?
I still think they threw darts at a board in the writers room to pick this crazy name. It has never resonated the fear of 3XK or "the Dragon".

Yes, it was the only show that I watched for so long. House was another show I followed, but that derailed after a couple of years. The end of House was luckely very satisfying. The first six seasons of Castle were great. After the departure of Andrew and Terri the show lost momentum. Season 7 was disappointing and I feared that that was the beginning of the end. Season 8 was nightmarish. Some good episodes en some hard-to-see-again episodes. The heart was out of the show. Apart from the latest 3 episodes I've seen and have all episodes since S01E01in boxes of DVR for rewatching. I shall wait for the reviews tomorrow if I will be able to see the end of the show. If they kill some roles (as in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid) in the end I will fill my dustbin on my DVR. We don't know what's really behind the stupid decisions of ABC, but I agree that ABC has lost the faith of a lot of viewers. Their communication with the fans of Castle was not existent. In Holland is no organized fanbase at all. Castle became for me a gathering of friends or family. I'm lucky to have two lovely daughters and four grandchildren and two more than very fine sons in law. So Castle was not a necessary alternative for what I could/would miss in life. Even so I shall miss this show and its fine actors. Strange enough nobody in my social network watched Castle. So I couldn't talk with anybody here about the show. I will be 67 in June and I lost 5 close friends in one and a half year. They will not be able to reappear in other show. Life goes on, and I am on my way to what life will bring me. But to dive deep in a new tv show will not be the first priority. I'll think I will follow our Dutch sensation racedriver 18 years old Max Verstappen with his races in de F1. And I plan to write a book about how to find out who we really are. Well, goodbye to you all. It was a fantastic ride with an ?? end.

I think it's a REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY...AND I MEAN really secret secret...I've seen it as LokSat, LocSat, LocStat, Locksat, Locsnore (I like that one), etc. It's so secret that even the writers seem to have had a hard time figuring it out I even tried to google it long ago to see what it was and the closest I came was some obscure website in a foreign language but GPS was in the description as well as LOCSAT.
Thanks for the laugh, ProudTVJunkie ...and I'm so sorry to hear the bad news you have had today. I hope things turn around for you...and your car!

OMG, that is too funny! Thank your husband for giving us something to smile about today.
And I hope you are able to find another freelance opportunity. You are a great writer; your reviews this season have walked a really fine line between trying to find whatever good there was in each episode while objectively pointing out the flaws.

I'm kind of chuckling about this question because - true to form with this story line - we STILL really don't know what Lok Sat was all about. We know who, but what was his purpose? Water over the dam now!

Water over the dam now! I know! As I said in my review, I still couldn't explain LokSat if I had to...not that it matters much now. I'm just glad it's over.
