I'm glad you bumped this up, Tycho. I'd lost track of it with all of the hullabalooo surrounding the finale.

This was such a fun episode and it really served to show how bold Kate was getting in flirting with Castle and pushing his buttons!  


It's season 2, episode #16, The Mistress Always Spanks Twice.

The case centered around the world of bondage and dungeons. The first clue they were following was the custom made leather hand cuffs that the vic was wearing and Kate seemed to know all about that world, which threw Castle for a loop. He wanted to know just why she knew so much about it but she just answered with a loaded look!

Back at the bullpen, the guys were looking at bondage articles and asking, "How do you even get in that position? It's not even possible." When Kate leaned over to look, she casually said, "Oh, it's possible." She left all 3 of them speechless and Castle looked positively gobsmacked!

Later, Kate made an appointment for Castle to have a session with a mistress at a dungeon so they could get in and question her. Castle started freaking out and Kate delivered the great  line - "What's the matter Castle? You afraid of a little role play?" His answer was, "Yeah, you better run." OH! THE SEXUAL TENSION! When they actually get to the dungeon, Kate totally dominated Castle as they checked in for their session.

A couple of other memorable things from this episode for me were that we got to meet Jenny for the first time and Lanie threw them all for a loop when she said that she'd even do a whipped cream bikini, but she preferred slippery to sticky! Castle grabbed Ryan's arm and asked, "Does she know we can hear her?" Ryan has the most genuine laugh then!

Yup that's the one nathanfan1 I love how the first 2 seasons were so filled with character development and chemistry building between Castle and Beckett. We couldn't wait to learn more fun every Monday night.
