I remember when I was Kurlyuu and then I deleted my name my mistake.....aren't we a pair. And since I am in the "Java" thread..... Java old boy, how YOU doing? Better! 6 months in the hospital (6 weeks in intensive care) and 10 months in rehab. Today, a new day in Baylor rehab. Still healing. I sleep 8-12 hours every night. Still disabled. Balance and dizziness issues. Can't turn my head left, right, up, down or behind without causing vertigo. Can't bend down well to tie my shoes. Can't shower well without my hand on the wall. But I'm better! I was very angry last year and I didn't want to do anything. A great therapist, love her, told me to shave! To clean up! So slowly I did so and eventually decided to celebrate life even though I didn't want to. On February 20th, I had a seizure. Very angry. Here we go again. My sister-in-law handed me a positive CD set that changed me! It was what I needed to hear! So I'm fine now. Happy. If another seizure occurs, I'm okay about it. Hope everything is great on your end! ~java How To Be A No-Limit Person www.amazon.com/dp/0743561635/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_tGa5yb72RZJXV

So glad to hear that you found a way to be positive and move forward. You have had many towers that needed to be climbed over this last year. It is so good to see you posting here again. Keep moving forward Sent from my SM-N910V using proboards

Anyone else loving him bombarding this site with music, videos and the like? A year ago, I believe he didn't know if he was coming or going. If he was still going to survive. If he was going to make it through the insurmountable work his body had yet to do. Or where he was going. Yes, I feel okay saying all this; sharing. I call him our "miracle man".... My husband and I would do just about anything to help him continue to recover. If you have any idea how he is, by knowing him here, he's rocking it with his determination and tenacity! And we hope to see him in person again sometime soon. He has overcome so much, is still working on recovering, and deserves all the love he's given here. And I share this, because Castle is the catalyst that gave me, an only child, a brother and friend better than I could've hoped or dreamed for. He blesses me every day! God was using the "Castle Universe" for so much good! I have beautiful people in my life because of Castle. I love when life surprises me! Okay, carry on. Had to indulge a moment of sentimentality. And to brag on java a little bit. Like I said, he deserves it. Thank you....

You and your husband have been so kind. 😊 I'm a tad better than my last post but I believe I'm handicapped for life which is okay to me. My days of driving seem over and I need to figure out the taxi services around here. I think that will be less expensive than buying a new car + car maintenance fees and repairs + car insurance + oil + gas. I was told by therapists that my memory will come back but it hasn't yet. The first half of 2016 is missing so no memory of being in the hospital but the second half in rehab is kinda there. No memories of operations or severe seizures either. Other weird issues: bow ties. It's a formal, semi-formal, and casual wear and I was wearing them in rehab to celebrate life. Then, one day, I couldn't remember how to tie them. Had to look it up. Remembered how to do it again but I kept forgetting. I ended up wearing bow ties all the time because I kept forgetting how to tie them even though I've worn them for 25+ years. I seem to remember now because of the amount of time I've been wearing them. So, one day, I'll be seeing you while wearing one. 🤣 Brain damage is weird. 😜

I was thinking of the clip-ons when I first read your comment, then it dawned on me that people actually DO tie both ties and bowties!!!!

You mean you have to actually TIE a bowtie? !!!!!! I was thinking of the clip-ons when I first read your comment, then it dawned on me that people actually DO tie both ties and bowties!!!! Yes! There's a certain manliness to untying your bow tie and letting it hang down from your neck to your chest. Regular ties are to long to do that. There is a catch. You have to practice but the how to are in YouTube videos and brain damage may erase 25 years of wearing them which is what happened to me: meningitis infection and 2 cerebral shunt installation (6surgeries). I wore them in rehab without a problem initially but then one day I couldn't remember how to tie them at all. Kept happening so I kept wearing them because I needed the practice. The new me. I should change my name from java to Dory. 🤣
